This restaurant had been around for ages. I went years ago it was ok then and this time, I found the potsticker dumpling ok, and the steamed pork dumpling having way too thick skin. Everything tastes ok but there are of course many places that would make it better. The SHANGHAI NOODLES however was impressive. I had not had better... More

As if the grungy odor and decor wasn't enough, the china and utensils stank of chlorine. It was late and my guest was tired, so we decided to order anyways. She ordered (she's fluent in Chinese) a broccoli and beef dish and a vermicelli dish. We waited about 40 minutes for the food. The beef was chewy, the sauce was... More

Before you get too excited about the duck, you might want to note the "Conditional Pass" sticker on the front door. Could it be a coincidence that both my wife and I had really bad heartburn that night? Perhaps. Oh, and also -- they must allow their staff to regularly take naps in the dining area because a guy was... More

Yes, as a previous reviewer noted, the place is a little tired but the food was very good. We went with 3 very close friends who are relatively recent immigrants to Canada. Myself, having in lived in a major city in China for a few years, know what good Chinese food is. While it was not the top of the... More

The subject says everything you need to know...There are so many better places to go for Peking Duck (Asian Legend, Congee Queen etc...) This place has a reputation for Peking Duck and I'm not sure why...It's average at best...The other dishes I ordered were over-priced and below average... PROS - None to speak of... CONS - 1970s decor, needs an... More

I've always felt sorry for Canadian's being very nice people, humble pleasant albeit conservative. A country that is still very young and inexperienced that needs to develop its own culture rather than claim the one's from other nations. So when it comes to things like the culinary arts and certain professionals make recommendations about restaurants like peking man; be appreciative... More

We dropped in on a Friday night for Peking Duck based of Grant Van Gameron's recommendation. He did not do us a disservice. Peking duck was perfect! Crispy and moist with a generous amount of pancakes and garnishes. The rest of the menu was also very good. The decor is pretty tired, but not awful. The place is clean and... More

Food is great. Lunch specials are a bargain. Only problems are the parking, no dim sum, and the decor is tired. Try the Peking Duck. It is great. The food is fresh and tasty. Service is good. Good for groups or individuals.

The decor is out of the 50s. It looks tired. parking is terrible during the day. They need a dim sum menu for lunch BUT they have lunch specials that are a great value. Their food is very good. Try the duck with 3 courses. Excellent. Best Chinese food in the Sheppard/Leslie/Bayview area.

It’s the New Year Day and expected that normal menu may not be served. We order one of the 10 people banquet menu for Christmas and add on top some dim sums. The Lazy Susan on the table does not work and the waiter has his trick to make it move again very smoothly. It seems like they are experience... More
