Great Greek food

I have been here once for dinner. There was a small line to get in (even with a reservation) but once you were seated the service was pretty good for a busy Saturday night. We often drive into Toronto and go to The Danforth for great Greek food at The Pantheon and then shop at The Big Carrot which is almost across the street. John and Bobby take superb care of us and this was one of my parents favourite places to be taken on Sundays for lunch. We particularly like their salads and... More

Everything is delicious. Don't forget to try the saganaki with the old man screaming "opa" whipe he serves it to you on fire :) - the real Greek way to eat

4 of us spent a very enjoyable and fun packed evening in this vibrant area of Toronto in brilliant weather. The restaurant was packed on a weekday, the food and service were faultless. I tried my friends Calamari, which is the best I have tasted. We all chose different dishes which were excellent too. The waiters work very hard and... More

This restaurant was recommended by a Greek colleague. I am really happy with the recommendation and had to have a return visit. The appetizer was grilled octopus and it was almost the size of a meal. Grilled to perfection and well seasoned. For the main course, my partner had snapper. It was as if the sea was beside the restaurant.... More

We sampled most of the starters grilled octopus and calamari, sausage etc. the flaming cheese plate( forget name) by the time we sampled all the starters we only had room for the Greek salad. The price was reasonable and service good. The food was perfectly grilled not over cooked as happens in some of the larger restaurants on the Danforth.

If you love grilled calamari - this is the place to go. 2 huge portions on salad for about $15 - it's a lot of food. As well the portion sizes for other meals is huge as well. Good value - not the best wine list but a few choices. This restaurant is very reasonably priced.

Although Pantheon is always busy, we were lucky to get a seat on the much coveted patio after only a 10 minute wait. The food here is always plentiful and fresh. The moussaka is one of the best in the city and the chicken souvlaki was tender and perfectly seasoned. We started with beans which are absolutely delicious. Pantheon is... More

I love grilled calamari and try it at every restaurant that offers it. Pantheon is thus far the best! As well, the service was absolutely fantastic. The server was very attentive and all of the recommendations he made turned out to be delicious! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves grilled calamari or octopus.

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
