Very nice Japanese restaurant

We visited for lunch during Winterlicious and it was very good. Can be a little noisy between 12 and 1;however then it quiets down. Servers are dressed in traditional Japanese attire. Food is of good quality and flavour.

It is not bad price wise in downtown, quality is also decent, so value is above average for a downtown Japanese restaurant. It is a nice and quite place, cozy but not cramped, and clean. Staffs were polite. We had combo dinner so the sushi and sashimi quality was ok, certainly not top notch.

This was my third time dining at Nami. We were seated at the sushi bar which was a fun experience. My friend and I both ordered the sushi and sashimi set. The food is so delicious, the fish tasted wonderful. They definitely know how to pick their fish! We also order the in-house (hot) sake. It smelt very sweet and... More

Easy access location, busy atmosphere, beautiful presentation and friendly service. We had seats in a private booth which allowed for easy conversation.

We 9 of us went to this restaurant for lunch last Friday. I always avoid Japanese restaurant because of their SUSHI as I am not a fan of uncooked meal. But since they had cooked meal also in addition to their traditional SUSHI, I joined the group. As we were a group of nine, we were offered private tatami room,... More

We love fresh sashimi. Nowadays, there are very few Japanese restaurant which serve fresh good bluefin tuna. This restaurant serves fresh toro with choices because they bought the whole tuna (or at least most of it) so customers can have a choice of which part of the toro. Every dish is prepared by heart in detail and the service is... More

I loved nami for a few reasons, one is because I LOVE sushi. Another is because I love resturaunts that have fresh food. I hope you like it if you go there.

We had a very nice evening with perfect sushi and a very friendly and professional service. The atmosphere is typically Japanese.

This restaurant has been around since way before sushi became popular in this city. And the reason for that is because they are simply the best! If you have never tried sushi this is the place to start. The food is so good it could win over even those who insist they will never eat raw fish. Nami's fish is... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
