Great service and food

The first thing I noticed about the restaurant was the service. The host was welcoming right from the start and there was not a moment when I felt like I am not being paid any attention. Our hostess was very friendly and had a warm/welcoming smile, so much that my mom even commented on how welcomed... read more

Dine with a few guest and I had a lucnh before so expect very nice dinner. Sushi and sashimi were nice. Tasty and fresh. However, udon dishes were not very nice. The noodle were too hard. Also wish there are more options for robata.

I went there with my friend, Jane. We heared its reputation as one of the most authentic Japanese restaurant in downtown Toronto, we decided to try by ourselves, to be honest, I don't expect it to be that good!

I had the best tempura in the whole GTA at this restaurant, It might be not so noticeable hidden near the king station, but honestly they cook the best Temupura in the whole GTA! The tempura is crispy but not overcooked, the shrimp tempura almost melt in my mouth!

I will highly recommend the sushi pizza, which is mouth watering delicious, compare to Zen which specialize in Sushi, Nami have more choice to choose, but if you choose it, you won't regret for your choice!

this restaurant serve the best quality Tempura dish. If Zen is the NO.1 place for sushi in downtown Toronto? This place will be the best place for the truly authentic Japanese Tempura!

Nami was my first exposure to sushi in 1986, and it doesn't look much different now. We had a delicious Summerlicious dinner with some extras. The kaoriage (whitefish wrapped in shiso and deep fried) was amazing, as was the Nasudengaku (sweet eggplant), beef sashimi, and all of our sushi and sashimi. Also the sushi springroll, like a thinly wrapped rainbow... More

A bunch of us wanted to try this restaurant, which is rated as Toronto's 6th best sushi restaurant according to Taste Toronto. The service was fantastic! The waitresses all wear kimonos, which gave a more authentic ambiance. Our waitress always had a smile on her face and was very friendly -- that's very rare in Toronto. We all ordered from... More

I have always enjoyed Japanese food. During my visit to Toronto last June, I had that cravings for Japanese cuisine and the concierge at Omni where I stayed highly recommended Nami. Food there was indeed Awesome! Their Uni melts in your mouth. Their dessert which is made of Green Tea Ice Cream was so unforgettable. Will eat there again in... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
