The food was alright but nothing special. Service was a little slow but okay. The decor was interesting and it is located on a really nice st.

Three of us went here for dinner last week, We had the green mango salad (no balance or spice), Mee Goreng, and a shrimp curry. The food was slow to arrive, and generally bland considering how great "Malay, Chinese, Peranakan (nyonya) and Indian cuisines" could be. I think they are better writers than cooks unfortunately. Not recommended.

Food was well prepared, and nicely presented. Atmosphere was quiet and subdued (at lunch) and conducive to talk--which is what we went there for (in addition to eating). Good value for the money.

This was my first experience with Indonesian / Malaysian food. A friend who travels extensively suggested we try this place. The server was great, explaining the menu and how to order. We had several dishes that were tasty though a bit spicy for this white guy. Overall, enjoyed very much... we ate a tonne of food.

My friend and I decided to try this restaurant for Winterlicious 2015 because their menu looked good and we wanted to try authentic Malaysian cuisine. The server seated us at a table, which had no napkins or cutlery. It took several minutes for him to ask us if we wanted a drink. It took several more minutes for the drinks... More

We went on a Saturday night and the place was busy but the waiter attentive and helpful. We shared their platter for two and my wife had the cashew chicken dish and I had the special beef dish. But the dishes are huge and we would have been better just sharing one main as we ended up taking away half... More

We are from Kuala Lumpur and we missed food from home, having been in Canada for nine months. We had curry laksa, Hokkien noodles and char kuey teow. Oh no please, please don't call these malaysian cuisine.....

I had dinner at Matahari a week ago as part of the Toronto Winterlicious restaurant promotion. Matahari won some points from me before I even got there, as I was having problems finding a Winterlicious menu with three courses I could eat. (I'm pescatarian - vegetarian and fish- but don't eat all food in that range.) Matahari's meun looked good,... More

I visited Matahari due to a review from a friend. The 3 generations of my family ate here, and we loved it! The owner was extremely helpful in the ordering process and taking care of my brother's nut allergy and our vegetarianism. After we ordered all our food and ate it, we got seconds, and then thirds. I'm excited to try... More
