Description: Le Papillon on Front is located in the heart of Old Town Toronto. Inside of a beautiful Old Town Toronto building with exposed brick walls and high lofty ceilings sits the beautiful venue for Le Papillon on Front. It's exposed brick is complemented well by the aged hardwood floor and perfectly soft lighting. The venue suggests a lovely mix of romance, comfort, and of course, the classic French bistro atmosphere that has followed Le Papillon to all of its locations. In the warmer months Le Papillon on Front even creeps its way onto Front street, giving a beautiful view of the Flatiron building as well as the CN tower in the distance. With a closed in patio adorned with wonderfully arranged planters you experience a private feel, even while sitting on the heart of Front Street.

For the prices being charged & the location of the venue, we were extremely disappointed. The food: a) onion soup was not hot as they are supposed to be; b) escargot was good; c) filet mignon (meat of the day) was good; d) lamb medallion was slightly over-cooked & tough; e) mash potatoes were not fully mashed & a bit... Hi there, I'm very sorry to hear about your less than spectacular visit to our restaurant. I am extremely interested to learn more about your visit so I can make sure it does not happen again. Did you mention anything about any of the food issues to your server? Such as the onion soup being hot or the lamb being... More

Great location on Front St. close to St. Lawrence Market and access to numerous parking lots. The high ceilings with lots of brick and wood with exposed pipes and ducting actually make for a nice ambience. We went before a hockey game at the ACC for a lighter dinner around 5:30. Lots of choices on the menu including savoury crepes.... More

My hubby and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at this restaurant on Saturday evening. We had reserved a table for 6:30pm, but realized that we had overestimated the length of the matinee that we had attended and actually showed up at the restaurant closer to 5pm! The hostess graciously seated us early, no problem whatsoever. We both enjoyed the French... More

Beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff. I had the Crepes de la Mer and it was excellent. There were twelve of us at dinner and not one person had a negative comment on the meal.

My husband and I happened to walk by Le Papillon on a Saturday night and decided to try it out for dinner. We had no problem getting a table (albeit it was 9:30 at night by that point). We ordered the scallop appetizer to start, and it was by far the best thing we ate out of our whole meal.... More

My wife and I often stop here for a bowl of their French Onion Soup after shopping at St Lawrence market. It is so velvety smooth! The service is always wonderful and the ambience is typically Frenc Canadian. You won't be disappointed.

The last night of our visit to Toronto we happened to walk passed this restaurant. We did not know that we had to make reservations, but the owner/manager made a plan and gave us a table. The service was great and the food awesome. The ambiance is spectacular. A must in Toronto. thank you for a great evening

It's a long gone from the menu but we still order the ham and cheese crepes and they willingly wheel out the belly busting treat which, in our travels, is the best creperie we've ever found. We love the atmosphere and the intimate feel. To be fair, set your expectations for a solid 3 rated restaurant with an ample menu... More

My first visit to this restaurant. Ordered a soup and salad with desert. Very clean, quiet and relaxing environment. The server was very nice, polite and professional with a smile. She made us feel wanted and at home. The food was very tasty and proper proportions. The prices very reasonable. All and all it was an experience worth repeating.

I really wanted to love this place - the room is warm and inviting among a row of touristy restaurants. Unfortunately it was a bit of a wolf in sheeps clothing. The restaurant specializes in French bistro cuisine and crepes. Too bad the crepes were soggy and flavourless and the salad so so vinegary - iceberg, frisee and some bits... More

Hi Robyn, I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing visit here. I'm happy you enjoyed our Old Town Toronto location but am quite distressed to hear about the dishes you received. I assure you we hold ourselves to a high standard of quality here and what you described is not what we have come to expect from our kitchen. Did... More
