Le Papillon on Front is located in the heart of Old Town Toronto. Inside of a beautiful Old Town Toronto building with exposed brick walls and high lofty ceilings sits the beautiful venue for Le Papillon on Front. It's exposed brick is complemented well by the aged hardwood floor and perfectly soft lighting. The venue suggests a lovely mix of romance, comfort, and of course, the classic French bistro atmosphere that has followed Le Papillon to all of its locations. In the warmer months Le Papillon on Front even creeps its way onto Front street, giving a beautiful view of the Flatiron building as well as the CN tower in the distance. With a closed in patio adorned with wonderfully arranged planters you experience a private feel, even while sitting on the heart of Front Street.

Nice atmosphere, good food!

This is located close to Sait Laurence. Market. We enjoyed Quebec-style food with reasonable price.

I was expecting some delicious French food. The chicken was dry, nothing special about the flavour. The best parts of the meal: the cosmos and the spinach soup (really great soup). Would not come here again.

4 of us enjoyed a Summerlicious lunch here. Everything was great from the moment we stepped in the door: welcome, our table, servers & food. Portions were more than adequate & each of us enjoyed our meal. Special cocktail of the day was a Caesar....excellent. We will be sure to return when in the area again!

The food and service was exceptional. We were the first ones there as they open at 11 am as opposed to other restaurants who start their morning service much earlier. We ordered the quiche Lorraine and the eggs belle-Helene. Both were delicious. The hollandaise on the eggs was the best I've ever had. The staff was attentive and friendly.

I have been to Le Papillon several times, for both lunch and breakfast. We decided to try its dinner service as the 2015 Summerlicious menu looks very attractive. The service at this restaurant is superb. The restaurant is house in this heritage building which gives it a great atmosphere, authentic red bricks wall decorated with art pieces, high ceiling and... Tried out their lunch summerlicious menu. It was delicious, just what summerlicious is about wanting to go back for more after trying. Definitely going back! I also heard great things about this place from my sister before going. Service is excellent! C'est bon!

We had an excellent experience using our Travel Zoo voucher. The food was delicious and portions excellent. We had mentioned in passing it was my husbands birthday and our server put a small candle in the dessert we ordered. Very thoughtful! Our server was very good, pouring wine as needed but not hovering over us constantly. The inside of the... More

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. We were there for Father's Day and the whole family really enjoy the food and the excellent service. They have the best french onion soup, filet mignon is excellent, my daughter enjoyed her smoked salmon crepe. We would definitely go back there again.

You can dine on the street front(in summer!) or in the wood panelled interior. It can be noisy if there are groups. The entrees and mains were good but the service and presentation were average. The escargots were the best of the appetisers and the House Quebec meat pie was very good. It's a good place for a good lunch... More

Four of us were out for a girl’s night and headed to Le Paillon for dinner. I was alone for the first 15 minutes and the server was very lovely, good mix of service and conversation, brought me a drink right away. Our meal was just delicious! I would say the best thing I ate by far was the De... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
