Great food

Restaurant is cozy with very friendly staff. Food is really good and great service. Seafoods are fresh. Pasta is cooked al dente. We all like the House white wine The staff treat us(party of six) like regulars even if they know it is our first time having dinner at this place. Interesting piece... read more

Three of us for dinner last week - unbelievably good seafood from the octopus and squid apps to the risotto, linquini with squid ink and even a steak.

Had a lovely dinner out with colleagues. Atmosphere is nice, and it was not too loud that we could still have good conversation. The fish selection is beyond belief! I had one of their Croatian fish dishes, and it was just as good as we had in Dubrovnik! Definitely an excellent choice for dinner!

We had a wonderful experience at Joso's celebrating our son's graduation with his Masters of Art History from York University. We had a lovely table on the second floor in the window. We were surrounded by the artificial Joso and loved it. What a great atmosphere for our little party!! The fish was simply prepared and absolutely delicious. Our servers... More

Food is great. Wait staff are great. Ambiance is soft and intimate. You have to try this place at least once.

Joso's has been around seems like forever. Located in a small two level house on the fringes of fashionable Yorkville section of town. Have been coming back for a number of years both for business and couples dinners. Great seafood selection, a lot of it flown from afar. Can get expensive depending on what you order. Interesting interior decor. Appears... More

We ate here with a larger group and were underwhelmed by the atmosphere. It was too loud to talk comfortably, and repeated requests to tame the background music fell on deaf ears. Similarly, the downstairs area was uncomfortably warm, but the servers were either unable or unwilling to lower the temp. Food-wise, the seafood was average-to-good and the steak was... More

This restaurant is located a little further out from the downtown but can be easily reached by subway. It is not a morden one but has a charm. The best part is grilled seadfood and it is one of the best in the town. Before ordering any food, they show you the seafood tray for the day, a sort of... More

Nice atmosphere, but were very rushed by the wait staff. The food was good, but not spectacular. They offer many choices of unique fish choices, but should have told us the price of each as they presented them for our review. In other words, I felt like the waiter was making up the "market price" of each fish on the... More

I had mixed feelings about this place. Very expensive. Very high-end attitude that extends beyond just 'classy' (rather to an uncomfortable degree for a weekday lunch). The decor is cheeky at best but fun unless you are sensitive to such things. The space is quite cozy. The grilled octopus was delicious, simple and expertly done, but at a far higher... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
