Visit us just once and you will instantly see why there’s nothing quite like the dining experience at The Wine Bar.Some prefer our cozy, intimate tables for two. But you haven’t taken in the full experience until you have watched your meal being prepared – right in front of you -- by leading Toronto Chef Bryan Burke. You can expect Bryan to inform and entertain you while he expertly cooks your meal using the finest local and naturally-raised food produced by Ontario farmers and artisans. Very nice

Classy, hip and intimate. Stylish venue. Good service. Nice simple menu. Lots of locally sourced options. Very nice flavors. Good location off Esplanade. I'd love to come back and try some of the other menu options.

Stopped in for a late bite while in Toronto. Great location, decent wine selection and the food was outstanding. Each and every dish was a different taste sensation. Fiddle heads, grilled asparagus, the mushroom pasta, cauliflower and polenta, the scallops...excellent all!! Well worth a visit!!

One of our favourite spots in the Market. The new menu has so much to choose from -- it was difficult. Grilled radicchio salad was wonderful, dip platter very nice, pork back ribs and of course their frites. More than enough to eat. Can't wait to go back.

I love wine and while searching on the web for decent wine bars in Toronto, I came across The Wine Bar. Three of us when for a light dinner. The food, service, and wine were good, but the tapas/appetiser portions were quite small, the lighting very dim, and the prices quite high (at least relative to what we would pay... More

We went to the Wine Bar to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It was a surprise my wife planned for me. That said, I expected her to enjoy the night a bit more than myself, because I'm not so much into wine, and, well... We were going to the Wine Bar! When we got there, I was pleasantly surprised. I... We went for wine and appetizers on a Saturday night not long ago. We ordered a cheaper bottle of red. When the wine came, it was warm. I don't mean room temperature I mean warm. We drank a bit but found it unpleasant so called on the waiter to ask him what we could do. He called the manager who... More

Interesting wine selection offering many varieties and price points. Enjoyed the option to purchase by the glass not only by the bottle - allows for a range of sampling. Atmosphere was lovely and the place was packed. Food was average but the wine menu would bring us back for a glass or two.

My fiancée and I had dinner at The Wine Bar on NYE. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, service and delicious food. We will visit again. Come check this place out.

After reading all of the great reviews for Wine Bar, we were looking forward to a wondeful meal at Wine Bar, but were a little disappointed. The Miami ribs were far from tender and the chicken wings were either over cooked or freezer burned as they were dried out and tough.

My partner & I had spent a couple of hours here one snowy night in November. the restaurant was almost empty because of the weather. The wait staff was very attentive. We carefully chose our wine from an extensive list. One stumble - the red wine we ordered was served in a white wine glass. The menu consists of tapas... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
