Visit us just once and you will instantly see why there’s nothing quite like the dining experience at The Wine Bar.Some prefer our cozy, intimate tables for two. But you haven’t taken in the full experience until you have watched your meal being prepared – right in front of you -- by leading Toronto Chef Bryan Burke. You can expect Bryan to inform and entertain you while he expertly cooks your meal using the finest local and naturally-raised food produced by Ontario farmers and artisans. And while other restaurants give you one menu selection, dining at The Wine Bar means you are going to sample – and share -- several fabulous menu selections, prepared in the Tapas style and perfectly paired with a selection from one of the finest wine lists in Canada.

Good take on modern tapas, good drink selection

Wine Bar has a great vibe, creative menu and robust wine list. The food is a modern tapas style food which is great for a romantic dinner with that special someone. The decor is funky and fun, but tasteful. I recommend sitting around the corner in the restaurant nearer the chef (open kitchen... read more

My boyfriend and I went to the Wine Bar yesterday using a Groupon I purchased. This Groupon includes a bottle of wine, two appetizers, two entrees and a dessert to share. Upon arriving, we were seated quickly as there were almost no patrons there. Our less than enthusiastic waiter gave us our menu and proceed to tell us about our... More

While in Toronto for the day we stopped at the Wine Bar at opening on a Saturday (5pm). They have a large wine selection and a small but interesting food selection. We enjoyed a nice red wine with a cheese/meat platter and mussels. Service was friendly and fast. It became busy rather quickly. If you plan on going make reservations... More

Just a really nice place for a romantic dinner. Had a very nice wine that I could not get at the LCBO and the price was very reasonable.

We had a Groupon but it would have been worth paying full price. We enjoyed the atmosphere, the cheese trays and wines.. The risotto and the Shrimp with chorizo were $18 each and delicious. We will be back again.

What a fantastic find! We had a groupon deal for dinner and the food was delicious. Great portions, fresh ingredients and a bottle of wine included also. We really enjoyed the ambiance, the service and of course, the food. We'll be back!

Overall excellent experience. Went later in evening for a light snack and a glass of wine. Diverse menu. Food was very good. Service was very good. Atmosphere was modern, pleasant, and would suit a variety of situations. Server was kind enough to sample a couple wines before selecting one. Wine selections are unique, interesting, and solid.

The good: a nice atmosphere, smallish with an open kitchen, and of course wines. We four were not big wine drinkers but got two glasses. Prices were okay. This was a Saturday night and we booked via open table and got a 7:00ish reservation easily. The place was nearly empty on a Saturday with the PanAm games in town. It... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
