Wonderful place. Fantastic service and very good food. I don't know if Onion soup is best in city but differently one of best we had)) . Place bit outdated but has it's charm. We come back very soon.

I was taken out for my birthday to this wonderful, intimate restaurant, on the second floor and overlooking the bazaar gardens of Cumberland St. It was full when we arrived but we got our reservation exactly on time and in the window as requested. We were there for about two hours enjoying a fun and French staff eager to attend... More

Walking around Toronto can work up an appetite! Wife and I were making our way through Yorkville and frankly we were so hungry I would have eaten anywhere - while we found the sign for Jacques we did have a hard time finding the entrance! Luckily for me I have a persistant spouse, and we figured it out - so... More

At first my husband and I had planned on eating here to eat some place new for Valentine's day. We ended deciding to make it our anniversary restaurant it was so memorable. We were late for our reservation due to the heavy snowfall and then the host informed us that everyone was too. With no bar or outdoor eating we... More

My husband and I are in town from Calgary and are devoted fans of France so we wanted to try Toronto's French offering in Jacques on Cumberland. We met a friend there in 30 degree weather. We dreaded the two storey climb and open windows (meaning the air conditioning was not in action) but it wasn't the worst heat I... More

The food was fabulous here. Really one of the best French Onion Soups I have ever tasted - full of flavour, cheese and not too many onions. Great broth. Everything else we tried on the menu was truly deliciouse. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy and very French. The ambiance for the evening was delightful. Excellent service and very friendly... We had dinner here tonight. The food was great. The French onion soup is truly excellent. The service was some of the best we have experienced anywhere in the world -- as it should be for a place striving to be "best of breed" in Toronto. In particular, the male waiter who looked after us was absolutely delightful. There is... More

My husband and I had a lay-over in Toronto and decided to treat ourselves to a nice French restaurant. After reading reviews on Trip Advisor, we booked reservations at Jacques Bistro Du Parc. The restaurant is situated a few blocks from the Royal Ontario Museum, and is convenient to the Metro(TTC). What a delightful dinning experience. As mentioned in other... More

Except for one time, I have always dined here when I visit the city. Although I have enjoyed the food, I have been coming here for the service. As I stated previously, if I wanted to impress someone, I would take that person here. On this visit, in addition to the soup du jour, I had ordered the special which... More

I love that a little bit of France found its way to Toronto. Chez Jacques offers a classic French menu and service en francais! Fantastic! I opted for the halibut special (no complaints), and the tarte tatin aux pommes. I'd recommend both.
