Worth the wait

It was a Sunday Brunch so we had to wait for an hour. The average price is about $14. Everything was perfect! But if you do go for brunch it can be quite crowded. Only opens from 10-3pm on weekends i believe

This is a great place. The staff are friendly and helpful, especially with my gluten/dairy allergies. The menu is interesting (not your typical fare) and the food is excellent, especially for the price. You need to make a reservation because it gets very busy. I also love the decor and feel of the place.

There are so many brunch choices in downtown Toronto, but our UofT student daughter insisted that none are as good as Insomnia. She was 100% correct!! She has been many times with friends, and for our first visit she recommended the Eggs Benedict, which comes in many styles. This was a very superior rendition of that ever-popular dish, not only... I was at Insomnia yesterday with a group of 6 for a birthday brunch. We had a reservation at 10 and were quickly taken to your comfy couch section at the back, but it was exceptionally busy! I imagine there was a long wait without a reso. The food was delicious and plentiful. I loved the home fries, and they... More

Loved the breakfast options. Do get in early on weekends or book if you can. No sense waiting outside in the cold. Servers were helpful and knowledgeable about dishes. Worth the visit and great value.

This restaurant is close to where my daughter is living. We went there for dinner on a Sunday night- early ish. We had a great waitress- very professional- she didn't rush us, coffee and water refilled with out having to ask , etc.etc. Among the dished ordered: crab cakes( so good) kale salad( ditto) lentil shepherds' pie( want to make... It was too late to place an order of chicken and waffles, however, the fried chicken sandwich was still available. In fact, it was a standard past 2300hrs menu offering. Having said that, the service was slow as the place was crowded, which is forgivable and understandable. OK, so the chicken tasted raw, almost under-fried and the batter came off... More

Delicious brunch, favourite in Toronto to date. Make to get the hash-browns; they're incredible. Get there early too. It lines up to (and out) the door by 10.

This is about "Service" ONLY! First of all, as everyone and I know, Insomnia is one of the best places to chill out and celebrate special events. I came here many times with my coworkers, friends and husband. I even celebrated my birthday here last year and everything was so great, especially the service. I always experience nice and warm... It's busy on the weekend so be prepared to wait a bit. I really liked that you can give them your name and number and they will text you when a table is ready! We loved the omlette and the waffles.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
