Great food, pleasant atmosphere, and a special place for us

My girlfriend and I had our first date at Insomnia two years ago. They put us in the back with some lounge style seating, which in all honesty, wasn't the best for eating, but the extra 2 hours we spent having cocktails and talking made them a perfect spot. Heard fabulous things about Insomnia's brunch. I had been prior for drinks but hadn't tried anything on the menu. The brunch here is excellent. The homefries are really unique in that they have a sauce on them, which is delicious. I usually don't eat my homefries, but these ones I was a huge fan of!

We went to Insomnia last night with friends and had a delicious dinner consistent with the many times we've dined there. The food is always wonderful and the servers are very friendly. I don't eat meat but always find something on the menu that is tasty. Last night I had the salmon which was served on a bed of sautéed... More

Had the pulled pork eggs benedict and they were great! They are famous for their bbq covered hash-brown potatoes which were good too but could have been a little hotter. My finace had some grilled cheese thing. I don't even know the name of it because I was so into my eggs bennie. I also decided to try one of... More

A veritable institution in the Annex neighbourhood of Toronto, just west of the Yonge and Bloor epicentre, this small but busy restaurant and bar has been active for decades, first as an internet coffee-shop, then as an eat-while-you-surf computer café, and now as a full restaurant that stays open late and never gets tired. Over the years, the restaurant has... More

We were there on Halloween night. It was busy. We had a reservation and we were seated right away The table allocation was…interesting. While great for people watching the tables in front of the windows are cramped. The food is awesome! Pizza was great and the Caesar salad was decent; not the best but not the worst. Service was attentive... More

Came in Saturday morning around 930a. Lots of seating available at that time of the morning. Started to get a little busier when we were leaving. No mimosas(alcohol) before 11a. We had the classic "charlotte" very good food! Great server and the atmosphere was amazing! Had a really good vibe. Would definitely come back

I can't wait to get back to Toronto so that I can enjoy weekend brunch at Insomnia. Like all brunch places in Toronto, expect a lineup. That said, if you can get there before 9:45, you're pretty much guaranteed a seat. Toronto sleeps in on the weekends. I always get the eggs benedict, but have tried and enjoyed everything on... food is mediocre. server was rude and misquoted how long it would take for the oven-baked pancake - said it would take 20 minutes which would've been fine. But, after 40 minutes passed, I became fed up. waitress couldn't care less when I raised the issue with her. not worth the wait. not sure what all the hype is about.... More
