We went pre theatre. Food was Ok . Meatballs a little hard. Lamb shank reasonable. Chocolate cake amazing. The atmosphere is where the place fell down. Just a little too much hustle bustle for average food with an upper end price.

We went here for lunch with a group of six before we saw the musical "The Book of Mormon." Dependable service and food. Nothing fancy, but pretty fresh food.

This is a great place to hit after (or before) a play on King West. Excellent service, good advice from servers. Excellent stone-baked pizzas, nice pastas, excellent apps. We have visited many times after a play and have never been disappointed. Last time, it seemed very noisy at first, but things settled down and the experience overtook us, did not... More

We had dinner before going to the theatre; it was very busy and reservations are a must. We both had pizza (mine gluten free and I appreciate the option). They were ok. Mine was a little soggy. Server was good and pleasant. Disappointed overall with the menu choices. We would like to have had more choices on mains.

I am quite disappointed with the meal. Chef recommendation , pan cake with assorted ingredient is too salty. Hope the restaurant will find ways to improve their basic dish, Niwan roll king is their name, therefore I expect exceptional quality for their steam roll.

wonderful ambiance. The artic char on the sweet green pea risotto was delicious. Good service - our waiter was respectful of our time constraint as we were theatre bound. clean bathrooms. much nicer vibe than the Il Fornello on the dannie. I'll be back!

The menu wasn't impressive, however, they do gluten free pizzas. The pizzas were average but the service was good and try to make sure that your dining fits in with shows booked (being in the heart of the Entertainment District).

If you are ever in Toronto and you are in the mood for Italian food you MUST go to Il Fornello. Our friends took us out to dinner and us being from New York thought eh how good could this food be. Wow we were surprised the food was amazing. My boyfriend had a steak and I got a pasta... More

Had a pear martini, French martini and 2 pomtini's. Pasta of rigatoni and bolognese sauce, were ok but the pasta was over cooked sauce was good. Staff were friendly and efficient and as we were part of a party of 10 they managed us very well.

Went there for a post-theatre at the Royal Alex dinner, with another couple. We were quickly and competently seated, in a very crowded room. This is not the place for an intimate, romantic dinner. The waiter was competent, and knowledgeable about the food, but, alas, the food is what might be called Italian pretentious. Fancy names, fancy prices, ordinary ingredients.... More
