The menu wasn't impressive, however, they do gluten free pizzas. The pizzas were average but the service was good and try to make sure that your dining fits in with shows booked (being in the heart of the Entertainment District).

If you are ever in Toronto and you are in the mood for Italian food you MUST go to Il Fornello. Our friends took us out to dinner and us being from New York thought eh how good could this food be. Wow we were surprised the food was amazing. My boyfriend had a steak and I got a pasta... More

Had a pear martini, French martini and 2 pomtini's. Pasta of rigatoni and bolognese sauce, were ok but the pasta was over cooked sauce was good. Staff were friendly and efficient and as we were part of a party of 10 they managed us very well.

Went there for a post-theatre at the Royal Alex dinner, with another couple. We were quickly and competently seated, in a very crowded room. This is not the place for an intimate, romantic dinner. The waiter was competent, and knowledgeable about the food, but, alas, the food is what might be called Italian pretentious. Fancy names, fancy prices, ordinary ingredients.... More

Had not been by for a decade and remembered the great Italian food. Fine service for sure but the meal was nothing to write home about. Travelled 150km and came away disappointed in the dry chicken and rather unappealing bruschetta. May be another decade or two before the next venture to Fornello land.

My sister recommended this for our first night in Toronto. The food was very good. Nothing outstanding. The server was excellent. The atmosphere was very nice. The wine selection was good. Some of the entrées were excellent. Other people were not as-pleased with theirs. My pasta dish was very good. My wife's dish was too spicy. One of my kid's... More

We go here all the time before the show and have never been dissatisfied. My only observation that I insist on sharing is that when I looked around at the packed house, with wait staff rushing around the tables, the people sitting at them were all thoroughly enjoying themselves.

When we arrived it was obvious that the restaurant smells. The odor was not pleasant as though there was a gas leak somewhere inside. It took quite a while for a waiter to get as drinks. You would expect that your drinks should be poured in glasses by the waiter. Forget it, you will have to do it yourself this... More

A local favourite, always great food and service. A little loud due to the cavernous acoustics, but so what! Easily recommendable.

Il Fornello's on King provided my wife and I the perfect location to dine before our show. The antipasto was fresh and delicious, the entre exquisite. The atmosphere and wine selection made for a wonderfully authentic Italian experience. Thank you all at Il Fornello's!!!
