Affordable food, friendly staff

This was good Italian food and generous portions. Despite the fact that we dined on a vey popular evening, we were given a window seat when we asked for it. We ate dinner here before seeing a show at a nearby theatre. Between the theatre crowd, and the mob there for the "One Direction" concert, the waitstaff was taxed. After finally getting seated, due to some snafu with our reservation, we waited quite a bit, before someone came to our table. It was the manager, to take a drink order.... More

The location tends to cater to the patrons of the nearby theatres and concert halls, so expect a fast efficient service and a place packed before the shows. A good selection of food and wines at a reasonable price (all relative to being downtown Toronto) the grilled calamari puttanesca were quite good in taste but the texture of the calamari... More

A great place to eat before attending a concert or live theatre. Servers ask if you are going to a performance and at what time so they make sure you are served in good time. The special $10 lunches are great. A good size too. I had the chicken pasta dish that was delicious. Bruchetta is served differently. You get... More

All time favourites, properly presented. Unpretentious, with average prices. If carbs are your thing, this is the place: bread, pasta, pizza. Nothing bad, nothing great. Crowded with average wait staff. This is a churn it business. You will not be excited, nor disappointed. Average beer and wine list.

Really delicious food and a lot of variety. They were great with accommodating a really big group (we had reservations, of course), but what was really terrific, was that we were all able to get separate checks (although they applied an automatic 18% tip, which I know is customary with large groups). My only con was that it was exceptionally... More

My two girlfriends and I had dinner here last night before our show. It was busy and we waited about 10 minutes (exactly what the girl at the front desk told us) before our table was ready. We were lucky to get a table in the private dining room at the back and it was a lot quieter than the... More

In the past we've had trouble finding a table when we needed one; this time it was easy. We had roughly an hour for dinner, and our waiter made sure we left in good time. The cream of asparagus soup was particularly good, but both of us also liked our pizzas. Recommended!

Great lunch. They have a $10.00 lunch special. I had the chicken dish and it was excellent. Large serving. Most of us had that and were not disappointed. My husband had the beef sandwich and thought it was just average. Service was a little slow but we had plenty of time as our reservation was for 12 noon.

Went here with a friend as we were both in town for a meeting. The ambiance was lovely and the service was excellent. But the food was lacking. Neither the entre (a pizza with figs on it, one of their signature dishes) nor the dessert (can't even recall what it was) was anything to write home about.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
