Some of the tastiest food in Toronto can be found at Gio Rana. This find is queen east hip without the pretension. Tables are a bit crowded and the music is a bit loud to comfortably carry on a discussion, however the simple menu an simple wine list is terrific. I wish there were more fish or vegetarian options.

I'll start with the CONS since there aren't many. CONS The music is so damn loud, you can't hear the person beside you. We made a reservation months in advance, and 1 person in our party of 7 had to sit at the end of the table, basically in the aisle way. She kept getting knocked by elbows, food passed... More

Very nice suburban restaurant, which is much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. The tables are a little close to each other. Ambience and service are very good but music was a little bit too loud for my taste. A good selection of Italian food and fish dishes as well as pasta. Wine list is all Italian with... More

so let's just get this out of the way: gio's doesn't have a sign, only a honkin' nose, hanging in front. a bit hipster? totally. but as a one-time resident of leslieville who has tried numerous restaurants in the area, i can tell you that gio's actually backs this up with honest-to-goodness, tasty food. they borrow from different parts of... Good food, but even better service. It is worth going here just for the entertaining waiter, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Do not be put off by the look of the place from the outside, it is really worth stepping through the door, as the ambience is perfect for dinning with friends & family, perhaps not so appropriate... The food is great here for sure - but this place is great value. What you get for the money is the best feature in my opinion. Really cool decor/ambiance as well, casual but cool.

The food is quite good here and the service is also reliable. It can be loud and busy but it is a fun atmosphere in the happening Leslieville neighborhood.

Went to Gio's a couple weekends ago with friends who live in Toronto and raved about the restaurant. If you want "fancy" this isn't the place for you. However, the food is tasty, simple and filling. The high-light for us was our waiter Marty. He had us laughing the entire night, was quick with service and we would come back... More

The food Is always first rate and reasonably priced - the decor Is crazy fun with empty picture frames and mish-mashed furniture - the servers re fun and welcoming and we've been known to roll home after a three hour dinner on m ore than one occasion. Yum

As many of the reviews attest, this is a very good restaurant. I have been going here for about 5 years and I am always impressed with the consistency. The service is attentive without being intrusive. You can tell that the majority of the staff have been in the business for a while. It is a great place to try... More
