Funky and Fresh

This place has a really stylish way of making "bohemian" funky and fresh. The service is great, the people are playful, the food is tasty and the music will give you a nostalgic feeling. Once you start dinning you'll never want to leave. I can't wait to go back.

The food at Gio Rana's Really, Really Nice Restaurant is always and consistently Incredi-licious! As I write this review, I'm salivating just thinking about all the flavour and textures, the way every dish just blends together so seamlessly. Another thing that keeps me going back is the staff... one in particular Martin Yankovich.. FUNNY! Marty really makes the dining experience... More

We were deciding where to eat when my friend explained "The Nose". I was very pleasantly surprised with the food in this transferred restaurant from Yonge and Eglinton. A nose hangs over the door of this previous TD bank. There's even a back room seating in the old vault. My rib eye steak was fantastic! It was definitely the great... More

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant since it was "The Nose" located on Yonge St just south of Eglinton. Gio's pulls no punches in delivering fresh, authentic and beautifully prepared Italian fare, just the way Nona used to make! If you're looking for cookie cutter decor, standardized service and run-of the mill "Italian" dishes (see: Americanized... More

My daughter and I just returned from a delicious dinner a Gio Rana. Excellent and professional service from Yankovich and delicious food, prepared to perfection. The sea bass I thought I would enjoy was substituted for sea bream and it was incredible and prepared exactly right. My daughter ordered a medium rare steak perfectly cooked. We shared three sides, asparagus... More

My husband and I live near here and walk by this restaurant all the time. To be honest, the outdoor appearance is a whisper shaby - there is a giant nose on the outside that has seen better days, so we never really thought about going in...then we heard from lots of friends this place was great. Last week we... More

The formula is simple: if you like flavour, you’re not afraid of sharing, and you want an exceptional night out, the Nose is the place for you. I’ve probably been to this place 50+ times over the years and there isn’t a single time I have walked out disappointed. The food is served family-style, so you will get to try... More

I had the lamb shank, it was very bland and the portions were small. I had a few other options on the menu and they were all mediocre at best. Nice place to try ONCE if you're into that whole 'hipster' kinda environment and feel the need to try something trendy. But I would stay away.

I had pretty low expectations but was so very pleasantly surprised. Great good and great atmosphere. Can't wait to go back and try everything else on the menu. Many gluten-free options too so bonus for me!

Some of the tastiest food in Toronto can be found at Gio Rana. This find is queen east hip without the pretension. Tables are a bit crowded and the music is a bit loud to comfortably carry on a discussion, however the simple menu an simple wine list is terrific. I wish there were more fish or vegetarian options.
