Its Italian of course. Savory food at a good price. What more could you want! Try the lamb chops. Very popular locally so plan ahead. Reservations only available for 6 or more.

Gio Rana's is one of our favourite restaurants in the city - tons of character being in an old bank and always bustling with action, the food tastes home cooked in small batches and the service is always personable.. Some nights you can even catch Gio himself checking the reservation book or wandering around the tables. Wines are around $8... More

First time I had dinner here close to 3 years ago, I had a memorable evening, so thought I`d give it another go. This time around though, I was fairly disappointed in both the service and overall meal....To be fair, it was a pretty busy time, 8:00 pm on a Saturday, but I felt almost unwelcome .....After a short wait,... Our friends took me n hubby here for our 10th anniversary. I was expecting it to be a little classier, but it was quite nice just the same. I liked the loudness of it....made it feel like the place was buzzing. Our waiter was very friendly. The grilled calamari was so delicious, but not nearly enough. I ordered the chicken... More

My wife and I finally dined at Gio Rana's after several years of saying we should really check it out and honestly we were underwhelmed by everything but the service which I can wholeheartedly say was first class. The manager and waiters were all extremely friendly, outgoing and a pleasure to deal with. The waiter made suggestions based on our... More

Not a large menu, but excellent variety. Side dishes are shareable in size. Decor is intentionally bare with old ducts showing. Table in wine cellar excellent choice for part of 6-8. Food is tasty and fresh. service attentive and friendly. Jazz the Manager is very people and service oriented and recognizes returning patrons. The bar is a little tight and... More

Service was excellent. The food was very good, not the best Italian I`ve had in Toronto but great value for what you get. 6 people dined with 2 bottles of wine for less than I have spent at some restaurants as a couple, totally worth it. What we loved most was the atmosphere. I would definitely return to this Gio... More

We used to eat at this restaurant back when it was THE NOSE in the Beach, back when a municipal politician named Tom Jacobek bowed to pressure from silly locals and wait for it....insisted that the iconic giant paper machier nose be removed. We have eaten at this new modern location of Gino's a couple times, including the recent Mother's... More

The food at Gio Rana's Really, Really Nice Restaurant is always and consistently Incredi-licious! As I write this review, I'm salivating just thinking about all the flavour and textures, the way every dish just blends together so seamlessly. Another thing that keeps me going back is the staff... one in particular Martin Yankovich.. FUNNY! Marty really makes the dining experience... More

We were deciding where to eat when my friend explained "The Nose". I was very pleasantly surprised with the food in this transferred restaurant from Yonge and Eglinton. A nose hangs over the door of this previous TD bank. There's even a back room seating in the old vault. My rib eye steak was fantastic! It was definitely the great... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
