Sushi - good value in downtown Toronto

First time at a sushi restaurant with "boats" at the sushi bar - really fun experience. We enjoyed sushi and also ordered off the menu. All the food was good and portions were large off the menu.

So you thought you never liked Sashimi? Then you walked into Fune by accident, you see the price list and ask yourself, am I really going to spend this kind of money on raw Salmon? Yes , yes you will , once that Sashimi shows up at your table, you can do nothing but grab the chopsticks , pick up... More

The food was excellent and the atmosphere amazing. The waitres were very friendly and double checked the intolerance information with the cuisinier. My meal was adapted to my intolerances and I would recommend for anyone with intolerances to go eat here.

Went here for lunch based on recommendation from Toronto Hilton. It was great....but a little expensive. Definitely a business crowd at lunch. Only disappointment was being "required" to sit at the sushi bar because I was eating by myself. While the bar was OK, I did notice a few open smaller tables. Still, Highly recommend.

They used little boats on moving water as their sushi belt. The sashimi slices were adequately sized. We had sautéed mushroom and sautéed scallops. Portions aren't too big for the price they charged, the taste was average. Green tea tasted more like water. Vegetable udon isn't cooked with the usual udon broth that is light and clear. Broth is thick... More

I'd never claim to be a sushi aficionado, but the idea of the little floating boats is fun, and the menu had plenty of things on it which I enjoyed. Went for lunch, when it was jam packed full of business people, so my friend and I sat at the sushi bar, which is pretty cramped if you order a... More

Excellent sushiand served on traveling little oats floating before your eyes so you can choose different types... The empty plates arrière counted after and it is not so expensive! And you can see the cooks in the middle of the boats preparing the sushi! Very different! And delicious!

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
