My fourth trip here today and every time has been wonderful. AUTHENTIC!!! Care is taken with every dish and I have nothing but praise for everything from ambience, service and quality. If forced to file a complaint it would be that the kitchen is deliberate in delivering your order. I suggest you order a margarita while waiting or ask when... More

I really like this restaurant and the Mole chicken is superb. I have never been disappointed. I really like Mexican food and have had many of the regional dishes from my extensive travel to different parts of the country. The service is a bit on the slow side and adds new meaning to the term "mañana." However, to be said... More

This is one of the older authentic Mexican restaurants in Toronto. An easy way to know it's not Tex Mex is to look for sour cream -- there's none, because rich dairy is not a staple of non-North American/European cuisine, probably as much because of the climate as because of concern about dietary fat. Having said that (not that I... More

My friend used to rave about this place and their tequila. We went there and I just don't get what the big deal with about. I love Mexican food and after having the real thing, this place was really disappointing! Their guacamole was too small and rather ordinary. My dish was a let down. Nothing tasted particularly great and the... More

Come here often for mothers day, fathers day, and for birthdays, Went here for birthday dinner and recommend the combo platter (they have vegetarian, which is my fav also). Love the decor, though our table was a bit wobbly near the wall. Food was EXCELLENT as always, though a slight bit of burnt taste in one item, but still very good. Only complaint... More

A thousand times better than Milagro on Mercer. Better food. Better service. More authentic. Will return.

Really good food, lovely walls, very nice owner. I agree about the wait that other reviewers mention - there is an incredibly long wait for food. So .. as long as you're not in a hurry, then it's great.

A large bunch of us, family and friends ranging in age from 19 to 55, had heard good things about El Sol so we were eager to try it out. Here are the comments from the group: - Our drinks came really fast after we ordered but then we waited 30 minutes for our two appetizers (how long does it... More

We live in the area and have been going to the restaurant since they were called 'Gonzos' on O'Connor Drive. They are now on the Danforth and have been there for several years. The food has always been great. Very authentic. Their prices have gone up and is no longer the bargain it once was. Unfortunately, their service has really... More

What a treasure! Fun decor, great service, yummy food. Order the salsa / guacamole and chips cuz it takes time to get your food but it is absolutely worth the wait. We had the meat platter combo very tasty and lots of food. Think next time I would mix it up with more vegetarian. Not cheap but worth every penny.
