We had to wait a long time to get the appetizer, and another very long wait to get the main dish - which was not tasteful at all. Their prices are on the higher side, but the quality of the food is just not there. On top of this, I got the food before my wife and we had to... More

I came here with my Bolivian friend who was visiting Toronto. She asked about Bolivian restaurants, and we couldn't find any in the city. She decided a Peruvian restaurant would be close enough (since they're neighbours). We ordered the antichucos (veal hearts), the fish ceviche, the seafood ceviche and pisco sours. The food was fresh and flavourful. The seafood was... More

This moderately priced restaurant serves excellent peruvian food, and we've eaten here many times over the years. Seafood and fish stews are particularly good mains, as are the soups (which you can make a meal of). Appetizers feature avocado and potato dishes. A dish made of marinated beef hearts that are grilled on a skewer is a good one to... More

We had a reservation for 730 pm last sunday. We called them and told them we were running half an hour late. When we got there the waiter was running around delivering big plates to some tables. So we were kind of ignored for a few minutes. Finally he came and showed us our table. We sat down and suddenly... More

We arrived a bit before 7pm on a Sunday to eat. One larger group and a couple small groups were already there, which may have contributed to how long it took our food to arrive. The waiter was friendly and readily refilled our waters, but unfortunately when our two main courses (Seco de carne and Mariscada de Fogon) finally arrived,... More

We came here for lunch on a Sunday not knowing what to expect never having had Peruvian food before. The waiter was very helpful with our selections, and the food was very good. Great value. Will definitely go again.

This was my sixth visit to El Fogon. I will definitely continue to return. The Sunday brunch is scrumptious. The hot and cold appetizers tweak the taste buds in pleasant ways. The food of Peru is clean and refreshing to the palate. All of the mains I have had easily tempt me for a return visit. Please try this gem... More
