pleasant family dinner

I had dinner last week with family for a birthday celebration. We were seven and ordered various dishes, all very fresh and tasty. From the ceviche, to beef dishes, to fish, to chicken, we all enjoyed every thing. We also had Sangria, Chichamorrada, wine, which were fine. The service was simple... read more

As a Peruvian living in an American city that doesn't have a Peruvian restaurant to travel to a different state or country and find one it is always awesome and creates great expectations and excitements! My husband and I traveled to Toronto Ontario Canada and I found this restaurant which it had great reviews. I ordered a portion of anticuchos... More

This is a great place to try Peruvian food. I ate there with a friend from Peru and he said the tastes were very authentic. The purple corn drink (forgot the name) was very good. Fried yucca with traditional dipping sauce (aji) was great. Ceviche mixto was ok, but not great. The bass ceviche was excellent though. All of the... More

We heard so many good things about Peruvian cuisine but never tried it. Until last night. When we sampled ceviche, seafood soup, Leche de Tigre, paella and chicken soup. Unbelievably good! Pisco Sour complemented the food really well. We'll be back!

This Peruvian gem was housed in a small narrow space on busy St Clair. Easily accessible by public transit. Decor was not overtly Peruvian but cozy, none the less. We were here early so the restaurant was not too busy... Started with an authentic Peruvian drink - a delicious Pico Sour. Tart but tasty.... We had one of the Valentines... More

We've been here several times and always love the food. Every single thing we've tried has been really good, milanesa, paella, seco de carne, sopa de mariscos, crema volteada, alfajor, etc. and now they even have brunch. The only downside is the service we get from some waiters/waitresses. We've had serves make faces at us, rush us to order and... More

Another family member ate here with friends and said we should try it. So we did. We're new to the neighborhood and we're finding out which places are reliable. We're adding El Fogon to the list. We're familiar with Latin American food and wanted to explore the menu a bit. One of us had a beef stew, one had a... More

I didn't realize that Peruvian food was the same as "cheap fried" food. Don't go there. If I could, I would have rated this restaurant a 0.

The restaurant was half full as we sat down with reservations. The waitress immediately came and asked us to order otherwise we would be waiting for our food, so I did just that cause I knew we wanted fish; nevertheless, the order took over an hour and a half and could only assumed they were short staffed. When the food arrived I... Hello Jeff, We apologize for the long wait times. We were, in fact, short-staffed in the kitchen. I also apologize that our server was not more courteous or attentive. We are currently in the process of finding ways to improve our efficiency in the kitchen without compromising freshness, since mostly all of our dishes are made from scratch on the... More
