I asked for a table by the window when I made the reservation - great tip! We were there for lunch - sunny day, and we had the view of the lake and the buildings south of the restaurant. It was quite noisy. Attentive service; we waited about 30 minutes between first and second courses. Food was beautifully presented. We... More

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. My wife took me to Canoe for my birthday and I could not be more pleased. Delicious food, beautifully presented with a gorgeous view. Pricey but worth it from time to time.

The view is breathtaking, food is splendid! The service was amazing! And the wine list is pricy but great! Reservations and dressing up are a must!

My friend and I go to Canoe twice a year for our respective birthdays. This is one of my favourite places to go, not only for the food and pleasant staff, but the view is spectacular, just not too close to the windows! I have ordered several different things from the menu and from their daily specials - always very... More

Went here for our 11th wedding anniversary after a recommendation from the hotel concierge. Took a while to find, but we were on foot and not sure of all the buildings and of course there's no signage outside that we saw for Canoe! Restaurant was very busy but just wasn't our cup of tea. We found out the menu changes... More

What a spectacular dining experience. The menu is "chef-superior" delicious. The service is outstanding, the view is eye-candy on the 54th floor. Dress attire can be a 3 piece suit and tie or business casual. My husband and I enjoyed a salmon entree and lamb followed with a most delicious chocolate mousse. The chef presentation in all the dishes was... More

Dinner at Canoe was my treat to my husband on his birthday and we both enjoyed the delicious food and excellent service at this restaurant. The decor was elegant and our waiter made us feel special. The food was cooked to perfection and their wine list was extensive. It was an occasion neither of us will forget any time soon.

My husband and I recently dined at Canoe to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. It was indeed an inspired choice. Despite the fact that the restaurant has been in business for 20+ years, we had never had the occasion to visit. We are so glad that we chose it for our special night. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. We... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
