Lovely patio & $1 oysters

Close to Sony Performing center and financial district, Tue & Sat there's $1 oyster special. Food and service are nice, good for dinner before shows.

I had VERY high hopes for this restaurant. Honestly, the food was great, but that can only get you so far when it takes almost my entire week long trip to get my food! We waited a bit before seeing the waitress but were outside on the patio in great weather, so we were happy. I have a two-year-old and... More

Very nice spot in the heart of the city. Nice outdoor seating area and excellent French food. The menu has a very nice selection of classic French dishes. The staff are very friendly and knowledgable. Prices are quite reasonable, too.

Busy bar with good 'French style' food. Had their prix fixe 3 course dinner which was very nice: a cold gazpacho soup, fish and dessert - good value and very tasty. Service is efficient.

We came here for Dinner on Saturday evening. I was quite surprised at the menu selection to start with and then more so when the food arrived. In this location I was expected what I got as the restaurants here cater to the touristy and night out crowd which are generally content with mediocre. The food here was very good.... More

The service was amazing. We were a party of 8, and when we arrived, we were asked if we wanted a private room. We dined in a good sized area, with lovely table and elegant and comfortable chairs, and service that was attentive without being intrusive. We could not have been happier.

Ate at pleasant outside tables. I had the warm octopus salad, which combines the flavors of chorizo and octopus. It was excellent! I also had the lamb sirloin entrée, which was also a wonderful combination of flavors. Had two flavors of their in-house sorbets. Very flavorful! (And I am not one who uses exclamation marks). Service was attentive without being... More

We went to Biff's (again) for my wife's birthday - all was excellent, the service, the food and the atmosphere. Chef Amanda had great food: frog's legs, foie gras, smelts and steak tartar were delicious. I loves the presentation as well - no need for so many plates as we were sharing all - smart! Our server Al was awesome... More

Very pleasant and enjoyable. Watermelon lemonade, very sweet and watermelon? Certainly quaffable on an extremely hot day. Salmon mousse very light, simply presented and enjoyed. Tuna nicoise sandwich, nice variation on the "classic salad"... well played, nice fresh warm open sandwich. However we were running late and asked for dessert and bill to come together and quickly... 10 mins later... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
