Fabulous but pricey steak house

Ambiance is great. It is very intimate. Prices are high, $50+ for a dinner. The menu is almost exclusively steaks. Location is very close to Dundas Square and the Eaton Centre. The plate is just the bare essentials - steak and starch but bread and a dish of veggies are served before the meal. The... read more

I was absolutely astounded when asked to change tables mid-meal because a preferred customer had arrived and wanted my table. I spent $200 for a steak and half bottle of wine. I am recommending to all my friends to never frequent this establishment

This is my third visit to Barberians for a work function. Based on my experience each time I would not recommend this restaurant. Service: This time when I arrived the host asked if I had a reservation to which I replied yes. He could not find it. By the time I checked on my phone he had disappeared, without a... More

Love the oldschool steakhouse Vibe. Great cuts of meat, perfectly cooked and attentive waiters. The Peppercorn sauce is a standout.

I have been here several times now. As good a steak as you will find in Toronto. Always consistent, great service and extensive wine list. The rib eye and filet are always perfect!

Old school steakhouse with outstanding professional waitstaff, terrific USDA steaks and a fab wine list. No pretensions and great quality. The Brussels sprouts are awesome!

We were taken here by friends who live in Toronto. The starters were mediocre but the rib steak...OMG. If you like it charred on the outside and rare in the middle then this is the place for you and you may need a doggy bag. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a Berni Inn for those of you who remember that... More

A great night out. Awesome service, great steak. We both had apps. Scallops and house pâté, both very good. I had beef tenderloin and my wife had the pork chop. Will definitely be back. The manager was right on the ball, doing rounds very personable.

We were quite surprised that this restaurant had high chairs and welcomed children! We had a wonderful time and though there is not a children's menu as such, our children aged 1 and 6 were offered a variety of dishes that kept them very happy. The food was out of this world, ginormous portions, the best wine list I have... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
