Steakfest, delicious!!!

We were invited to Allen's by friends that live in the area. Our friends had talked up Steakfest and were a little nervous that we may not enjoy it as well as they have in the past. Well it was everything they said and more. It's not cheap, but what great steak is. Our steaks were cooked to... read more

We decided to go to this self-described "loving tribute to Irish-American saloon" for St. Patrick's day expecting what any Irish pub worth its salt would offer on this most Irish of days; music, joviality, celebration and good humour. We found none of the above. After paying the $10/person cover charge (which, being St. Patrick's day, we totally understood) we entered... More

We picked this spot from all the great reviews we read and we certainly weren't disappointed with the food. The food is reasonably priced and comes in a reasonable amount of time. It tastes amazing. No really this place serves some of the best food I have ever had. Every plate that I seen come out the kitchen was neatly... More

The Best REAL Burgers in town can be found at Allen's on the Danforth. Freshly ground daily and such a high quality of meat that they can cook it to your preferred temp! I love medium rare with a light trickle of Dijon. Its so perfect you hardly need to dress this burger. If your looking for the fancy stuff... More

Allens is an old friend we turn to on a regular basis, and we love that its evolution over the years has been glacier-like and not particularly extensive. In fact, we are original Joe Allen fans, and are always pleased to see echoes of that establishment here at Allens. (We are holdovers from the days that their superb burgers were... More

Given the reputation of this restaurant I was incredibly disappointed with the Halibut and chips and Ravioli I order for myself and my two kids. Forgetting the small portion of 4 Ravioli's for $20 to share between my two kids I'll mention the Halibut and chips. I spent the summer trying fish and chips all over the east coast and... More

I have enjoyed many meals at Allen's over the years but the shrimp curry served this evening was the best ever. As always, the service and atmosphere were very good. My dinner companion certainly enjoyed the burger and fries but the shrimp curry was the real show stopper.

This cozy, upper scale pub on the Danforth was a lovely little surprise. The service is professional and warm, the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. We started trying out their rosemary polenta sticks - they were really tasty, a nice way to start a meal. I then had their fish and chips - really delicious. Not overly breaded and the... More

I love to go to Allen's for lunch in the backyard patio for a burger or fish & chips and a pint in the summer. The patio and its shady trees or if you prefer the sun there is plenty of that as well. The food here is of high quality and the service to match.

Beautiful patio in the back, albeit it was wasp season, so it was a little annoying. This was my first time there and my friend recommended the burger. it was really good, the menu is varied and should appeal to vegans too, I would definitely go back for a visit. The wine list is HUGE and the selections are surprisingly... More
