Good food, unfriendly staff

The food is good but overpriced. The lamb shank came with mashed potatoes only. The ribs were without doubt excellent, tender and tasty. The salads served with the ribs were also great. However we were greeted at the door with an announcement that there were two dinner seatings and we would have... read more

Though the menu looks great, and I'm certain the chefs are worth the food ratings that roll through for this establishment, I didn't make it past the hostess, after she sent myself & my guest back to the bar twice to wait for a table to open up. She never sat us, and glared from her post whilst seating others... More

This restaurant has abysmal service. Servers clearly hate their jobs and are rude and provide disinterested service. Allen's has a pretentiousness that has clearly been cultivated over a number of years. The food is just okay. Factory Girl just down the street has much better food. Other places on the Danforth have better food at lesser price. I would avoid... More

This restaurant has it all going on- great food, great service, great ambience.....not to mention one of the best patios in the city. the menu has something for everyone and there is a great wine and beer list. It is also a great place to pop in for a drink at the bar- very friendly staff and customers. also friday... More

Allen's famous for the burgers but last couple of trips they seem to be getting smaller and smaller. I understand that they come without sides but this little guy seemed very lonely all by itself and at $14.95 the price was already steep! Will think twice

The food was really delicious -- butter chicken curry. Tasted like chicken korma (I used to make from a now-lost Maclean's Magazine recipe). Accompanying rice and nan perfect. Chocolate cake was also good. The service couldn't be better, and pub ambiance was comfortable, homey. Prices reasonable, all factors considered (size of serving, etc.). The menu is broad (different variations of... More

Traditional Irish Gatro type pub with wonderful food good service and lots of selection on the food and beer menu. I also like the local fare. Truly some of the best burgers anywhere with no hormones in the meat ! Our table had lamb shanks , burgers , smoked salmon and a wonderful light cream seafood chowder all very good.... More

We decided to go to this self-described "loving tribute to Irish-American saloon" for St. Patrick's day expecting what any Irish pub worth its salt would offer on this most Irish of days; music, joviality, celebration and good humour. We found none of the above. After paying the $10/person cover charge (which, being St. Patrick's day, we totally understood) we entered... More

We were invited to Allen's by friends that live in the area. Our friends had talked up Steakfest and were a little nervous that we may not enjoy it as well as they have in the past. Well it was everything they said and more. It's not cheap, but what great steak is. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and... More

We picked this spot from all the great reviews we read and we certainly weren't disappointed with the food. The food is reasonably priced and comes in a reasonable amount of time. It tastes amazing. No really this place serves some of the best food I have ever had. Every plate that I seen come out the kitchen was neatly... More
