Went two days in a row

Really great little place. Has a very authentic feel. Tacos were very good, not too fancy. I liked the chorizo a lot. The garnish could have been a little better, more cilantro, lime, and maybe fry the onion a little. However it was all in all a great experience and a delicious taco.

The tacos were not good at all. The taste is lacking the real mexican flavour. If you want to taste the real deal do not go there. If you are ok with average not so commercial burritos then go. Al pastor tacos were close to the real taste and chorizo tacos were bad.

We followed the recommendation of our host to Tacos El Asador. It is small and crowded. They only accept cash. We ordered nachos, tacos and burritos, which were all great, especially the nachos. The staff is very friendly. It can be hard to find a seat.

Authentic, tasty and reasonably priced. I love this small joint. Nice, cozy and close quartered dining area so don't expect a whole lot of privacy. I usually order the soft pork or chicken tacos which I have never been disappointed with. They are moist, flavourful and the hot sauce and bowl of jalapenos are well welcome. I'd recommend you try... This is one of those great little restaurants that you don't think much of at first glance, and then you're happy that it's such a great little secret. Then you'll fall in love with the food. Then you walk in and realize it's the worst kept secret around. Walked in with my ten year old who really wanted a burrito... More

It was my first time here so I tried a papusa, enchilada and a tamale. All were pretty good. I liked that you could try a bunch of different latin specialties all a good prices and the service was fast. This place is really small and accepts cash only. You order first, then wait for a table because it's busy... More

I've been eating at Tacos El Asador for years, and it never disappoints. The owners of the restaurant cook up good, fresh food. Their burritos and tacos are delicious.

It was my first time eating there, but for sure not the last. It was really coolly decorated was all these cultural art pieces, and with flags as well. I ordered a beef burrito, and it was amazing, everything about it! And the complementary sauces go great with it. Nicely Done Chefs!

Hadn't been in a while and wow so glad I went back. Totally one of those mom and pop shops with great food. Staff always friendly too just an added bonus. Only downside is the guacamole is pretty expensive +$7 before tax. Ouch. Try the pulled pork soft tacos. Yummmmm.

When we moved from Toronto, El Asador was one of the places I was heart broken to leave behind. If aliens landed and demanded the best Mexican food I could produce, I would take them to this cozy, quaint little place. It's not fine dining, you'll be cramped inside, and likely too hot sitting on the brightly colored picnic benches,... More

Staying in West End

Neighborhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
