Had brunch in this vintage like family diner. We were welcomed like family by the staff. Great service. Had bacon and eggs with coffee. The portion was large under $8. Good food. The place is cozy as expected. Busy as well as expected for a typical small size diner. But we got lucky and did not have to wait long... More

it's been a long time since i was last in the Golden Diner but i wanted some real homestyle cooking and made the short walk over. it's located next to the Best Western Primrose Hotel. the decor is dark (thus some people think it's dirty -- but it's not). it could do with being brightened up and the pastic flowers... Quick and friendly service (about 3 mins between ordering and receiving my meal). Reasonable price--3 eggs, 2 pieces if toast, home fries, fruit garnish (slice of watermelon and cantaloupe), coffee + OJ for $7.68 + tip. Delicious and fresh.

We were staying at a hotel nearby and figured we'd give this place a try for breakfast because of the good reviews. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone in the area. The portions are HUGE, the prices are low, and the service is super friendly. I know we will return the next time we're in Toronto, we're so glad... More

Had the Chicken Souvlaki Dinner Special. Very good - garlicky chicken, rice, Greek salad and rice plus dessert for a great price. The miserable waitress tried her best to ruin our meal by being unpleasant! We chose to ignore her bad karma and even left her a tip. Apparently the weekend brunch comes with the same great food and friendly... More

Small place next to the primrose best western. Breakfast had large portions and was very good. We had eggs over easy and french toast. Came with 3 eggs and four pieces of french toast plus the buttered toast and home fries. Even a little water mellon wedge. Very good and affordable !

Very good breakfast and lunch. Morning staff is friendly and efficient. Night waitress is very stern and not welcoming. Always go before 2"pm

Stick-to-the ribs breakfast. Good coffee, prompt service. This is a no-nonsense place that probably has looked the same since the 50s--you could see Columbo (Peter Falk) walk in and feel right at home..the worn-out furniture and panel walls and the decor, such as it is, are part of the charisma. Had the (Canadian) bacon and eggs (scrambled) breakfast, served with... More

The food is very good but the servings are almost too big. The restaurant's appearance may turn a few people off but the food is worth it.

I visited Toronto by myself, from Australia in October 2013. I visited the golden Diner for breakfast one morning, because it was walking distance from my hotel. I was greeted by a friendly man and took a seat. I received a large, delicious breakfast for a very reasonable price. The restaurant staff struck up conversation with me and were very... More
