Food is tasty but atmosphere bland

The food is always pretty good and the specials appetising. Unfortunately the service is brutal; if you are not a frequent patron who is flashy, you are seated upstairs. This is okay except that you are often forgotten. There is just too much attitude to want to continue coming back. Best to go in... read more

I have been dining at this restaurant for 15 years. Always enjoyed the food. Decor and service are so so. It was slow getting our food but no biggie but what really irks me is the the server with a bad attitude! My wife just asked if the rest of the dishes were coming as he forgot about one of... More

I had the Lamb Lasagna special. It was bland. So was my friend's veggie pasta. Service was slow. Plates were not brought out together but one at a time. By the time the last dish came the food served first was getting cold. Tough for everyone to eat at the same time. Decor is very 1950's. Owner is old so... More

We have been going to Gamberoni for close to 30 years. Great food, fun owners that care and reasonable prices. Consistently good to great food. We have never had a disappointing meal. They are always able to customize a dish if requested. Very affordable. Give a try, you love it.

I come here all the time. I eithet order from the menu or they make me something special. The food is always fabulous. The seafood is to dies for as are the veals and their pasta dishes are out of this world. They have lovely house wines and all at very reasonable prices.

A gem in Toronto. Choose between the cozy ground floor, romantic upstairs or, lovely back patio. I have tried the whole menu, everything I liked. Eat here. Carpaccio, veal limone, mussels, paella are some of my faves.

Great Italian food. If you can't find something on the menue they'll make it for you!! Friendly staff, good wine selection. A bit pricy. Not recommended to take small children!!! Restaurant is usually very busy with locals and you should get a reservation if possible.

Gamberoni is a wonderful restaurant to visit if you are looking for great Italian food. This family-run restaurant has been around for many years and the food continues to get better all the time. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed and often the restaurant is filled with locals from the area. The linguine and clams is probably the best we... More

Have been coming here on and off for over 20 years and always consistent. In the past few years have gone more regularly and, after going through the menu several times, they suggested alternate dishes not on the menu. Although, I still order my favourites most times, the odd time, I ask them for advice based on what sauce/meat/fish I... More

I am a regular customer here, come here weekly and feel like it's my mother cooking for me and I'm not even Italian. I never order from the menu, they always prepare amazing food and my family and friends who I bring here love it!

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
