Great steaks

Had the set dinner here and the steak was fabulous, very tender and well worth the price at $29 for 2 coursed central to Toronto on Kings street.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, upscale trendy, business casual, fun place to dine. Not too intimate where we sat but fun! Steak was really good, cooked just right and the prices were not so bad for the quality of food especially in Toronto Downtown. This place is 500 feet from Roy Thompson Hall so PERFECT for dinner before the show...I'll go... More

First time visit with another couple and we were seated downstairs (Fred's downstairs) it is more casual than the upstairs stake house and we loved it. We opted for the shared plates (tapas style) and really enjoyed all the food the pulled pork quesadilla and the Korean beef tacos were the night favourites. We had a great server and the... More

The lobster soup was great...but that's where the awesome ended. My brisket was tough, and the rest of the main dishes at the tables were also decidedly average. The service wasn't terrible, but also not spectacular. Overall, in a city with fantastic food....Fred's was a let down...maybe that's why he wasn't there.....

Seriously those fries in duck fat are so delicious. They are greasy but we all devoured them. A great restaurant for before the theatre. The salads were large and all had a bit of a bite to the dressings. We had the Mirvish package 3 course meal. The chicken was just okay. Others enjoyed their steak and the baby scallops... More

We had a package deal for one of the Mirvish productions that included dinner at one of several nearby restaurants. Our server was very accommodating! She even allowed us to deviate from the 'Fixed Prix menu' available with the package. If you go, be sure to order the Gumbo, it is sensational!

A one is actually too high for this place. Service was 'army like'. Meal, the fish dinner came .....but they forgot to cook the fish. Who likes to eat a slime? Paid $20 for a scoop of rice and a few green beans since the fish was not edible. Turned off to this place. Never will return. May not eat... More

We had dinner in the front seating area looking out the window. We were looking for a quick yummy reasonably-priced meal and we found it on the Red Tomato Menu at Fred's. We found the other menu a bit pricey for what we were wanting and were relieved that we could choose from both menus.
