Good choice

There are lots of options along King St. in the theatre district and I've been led to believe that most of them are not great. We stopped in here to escape the rain on a Saturday afternoon and had an excellent meal. One of the best burgers I've ever had, paired with shoestring fries (fried in duck... read more

We had reservations, however we ran into huge traffic and we were late. We called to let them know. When we got to the restaurant we were told not very politely that the kitchen would take at least 40 minutes to get any food to us at all so we left, we could not take the chance that we would... We are often on King Street for business or for a show and will meet at Fred's for a delightful meal. If you're in pre-show let them take care of you and you'll be ready for showtime. If after relax and enjoy the ambiance, apps and deserts.

This busy restaurant caters to the pre-theatre crowd on King St. and does it very well. The two course prix fix menu has something for everyone. The baked lobster shrimp bisk is outstanding. The 6-hour braised brisket is delicious sitting on a bed of really good risotto. A good number of salad selections and for those with a little more... More

Fred's was recommended by a knowledgeable Toronto foodie as a good place to eat which would not break the bank. He was right. The three of us (girlfriends) did as he suggested and each of us ordered two small plates for sharing. We ended up with 2 blackened salmon, 2 coconut shrimp, 1 Vietnamese spring rolls and 1 green onion... More

Pleasant surroundings and good food was overshadowed by rude reception from William, the restaurant Manager. He could use some good manners!

We came here before going to Second City, it's only a five minute walk from the restaurant to the theatre. The food was excellent with great service as well. I had the bacon wrapped steak, so tender and juicy, I would have it again in a heartbeat. My gf had the curry and it too was delicious, we highly recommend... More

let's get the service out of the way, the waitress was great, attentive and also made sure we were served promptly to get to the show on time. The food was fantastic, the paella was filled with clams, mussels, shrimp and lobster, large portion. I also tasted the Thai curry chicken, yummy! The food presentation was also well done. Oh... Curious name and pleasant environment set the tone of the disputed restaurant. gentle and quick service. I opted for the 2-course menu and chose the burger made with Kobe beef that is delicious. I recommend!

The Crab/Lobster soup is one of the best I've had. The steak was okay for the $29 special but could have been a little more tender. Was the best though compared with other places we went. Atmosphere is great and service is excellent.
