Decent meal, not Irish atmosphere

I had a pretty good experience at this pub. We went on a Friday night and the service was good, fast and friendly. The music and decor were not particularly Irish, but that didn't bother me. We have been to this pub a couple of times and think it has the worst service ever. The waitresses tend to be lazy, grumpy and/or rude. Service is quite slow. Some of them don't seem to care how they look - thrashy must be in. They put Tilted Kilt to shame. Whoever hires the staff should honestly have better... More

My wife received her brunch with a hair in it. The waitress said none of the staff had that type of long brown hair. As if to blame us the customers!!!! Don't go here. The staff does not know customer service. Was expecting good service here. It sucks to be disappointed.

Terrible food, terrible service, evidently the staff working the night we were there were NOT "Safe Food Handler" Certified. The ONLY thing that was Premium at Fionn McCool's was the bill!

We just popped in to have a beer and check the place out. It was late afternoon on a Monday and I expected to hear Irish music and be greeted by a friendly bar Staffer. Not the case. Rock and roll music on the house speakers and the bar staff were more like what you'd see at a dance club... More

This used to be my favorite pub outside of Ireland; it has a very authentic look and feel, and the food used to be terrific! This visit, the staff was still very helpful, and the atmosphere was still great, but the food was greasy and didn't seem as well cooked as it needed to be. Looking at some other reviews,... More

My wife, my sister inlaw, and I went to see Chris Hardwick at the Just for Laughs Festival in Toronto on September 26, 2015. Thankfully, we arrived in the city at about 6:30 pm early enough not to rush through dinner and head to the show at Sony Center. We took a walk and checked out some nearby pubs and... More

The atmosphere is still good, but the food used to be better. Fish & chips used to be second to none. This time some of the pieces were very greasy. Sat like a stone in our stomach all night.

As a group of three we waited more than 10 minutes for first round of drinks to arrive. My friend's $14 sandwich had a piece of chicken that was the size of a large potato chip. My other friend's fries were far from fresh, and my beet salad was a small portion of flavourless lettuce. We waited over ten minutes... More

Chose here as it was opposite our hotel when we arrived on the first evening. We ate outside and the area was "buzzing". There was a problem in the kitchen so food was delayed but we weren't bothered. Food was good and they knocked 25% off the bill without asking and gave us a voucher for 10$ off our next... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
