Authentic basic Mexican food

Tried this busy little restaurant one evening in the area and the Mexican food was authentic. We tried the pork and beef tacos, both tasty and good. Portions were small and the tacos were around $10 each order of five. Service was good and the place was very busy in the evening.

Hard pressed to find a great taco in this city, despite all the mexican restaurants. These tacos are simple, authentic, delicious and well priced! Our favourite place to eat! Grab a seat on the patio, and a margarita - enjoy the people watching.

I recently visited this little hole in the wall and what a great surprise! The homemade soft tacos were very tasty - we had a mix of 3 types. The guacamole is delicious! Next time I am having the nachos as they looked amazing! There is a cute little patio and the waitress was lovely! It was a great experience!

Nice place to stop and hang out. Lots of Spanish speaking people here eating. We only had the chips and Guacamole (fresh and delicious, $7.00 plenty for 2 people.) But the food looked and smelt great!

We just returned from some time in Mexico and we were craving some Mexican food. This place did not disappoint...in fact if I closed my eyes, I could take myself back. The pork tacos were delicious and the guacamole was good. A great lunch stop, the place was packed but the service was friendly.

My Girlfriend is from Mexico City so this is Her and my opinion. We fully agreed that this is a very rare opportunity to have a meal from home. Service is excellent and the waitresses are from Mexico so fluent Spanish is available. Food is fantastic. It's a small place that fills up fast. We have been planning on going... More

The sandwich board sign in front of the shop said $5 fish tacos. I had really good fish tacos in Los Angeles area and Chicago before. The taste was great BUT the size was not. I kinda felt ripped off because the soft taco shell was smaller than i expected. The staff and cook appeared to be authentic mexicans.

A very cold night in Toronto saw us stumble (oops) into this place. Lovely waitress, nice carafe of house wine and some delicious tacos - all food seemed to come with pineapples, this initially made me think of rubbish Hawaiian pizzas - absolutely not. Great atmosphere, great flavours. Not masses of food but plenty for most - I'm just greedy!

The patio at El Trumpo is one of the best places to "people watch" anywhere in Toronto. Even better, the margaritas are fabulous and the food is great. We usually order a few dishes and share. Last time we were there we picked up a jar of their salsa. Great spot in the market
