Not so crushing

My wife and I were for Toronto winterlicious. The receptionist was very helpful, gave us coin change for the parking meter as it wasn't accepting credit card. Oysters, wine, food and service was exceptional. Wooden noisy floors. It was three quarters full and it was noisy. Ask to be seated by the... read more

There is nothing overly sophisticated or complicated about Crush. The food is always solid and the staff make a good effort to please you.

Have not been to Crush in many years. We came with a large group of friends. The staff were friendly and helpful when booking. We found the atmosphere very relaxing and servers excellent. I enjoyed the Sunday Oysters immensely.

This place is fantastic. The food is amazing the service is great and the atmosphere is fun and trendy! We ordered way to much because it all sounded so good and ate it all because it all was just as good as it sounded! We will be back for Monday night oysters.

My husband, a friend & I went to Crush for a Sat. night dinner, unfortunately, the restaurant was a little chilly, and we weren't even seated by the window. The service was great but some of the dishes were overpriced. Like the Oceanic sable fish my husband ordered was good but was a dissappointingly small portion, for the price of... More

We had first been to Crush for just drinks. They obviously have a fantastic wine selection so its fair to say that we really enjoyed our selections. Then second time, not so much. We were there for winterlicious and the food was sadly boring. We were seated in a dark, tiny table even though the restaurant was mostly empty. We... More

I had dinner last night at Crush before seeing a show. The oysters were fantastic to start, then I had the Sablefish served with brussel sprouts, calimari, and herb butter. The plate presentation was just as amazing as the food. Portion size was perfect. The staff were very warm, attentive and helpful. The whole dinner experience was wonderful. I would... More

Went to Crush last night Feb 28. A group of 6. I was hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews on various social media sites. My wife and I are foodies, well travelled and eat out often. All I can say after the experience we had last night is that the previous reviews must be somewhat misguided, or they... More

The appetizers at Crush are large and tasty. We went for the three sister striped bass and the mushroom bolognese. The duck confit is excellent, but the organic sablefish was a touch on the bland side. The dark chocolate hazelnut cake was also very good. The atmosphere at Crush is great and so are the staff. Had the fish been... More

We loved the food and the wine. The dishes we tasted were wonderfully prepared and the presentation quite appealing. The food was just delicious. We paired our dishes with the wines suggested, and it was indeed the proper way to do it. The service was outstanding.

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
