A bit of a let down

We had first been to Crush for just drinks. They obviously have a fantastic wine selection so its fair to say that we really enjoyed our selections. Then second time, not so much. I had dinner last night at Crush before seeing a show. The oysters were fantastic to start, then I had the Sablefish served with brussel sprouts, calimari, and herb butter. The plate presentation was just as amazing as the food. Portion size was perfect. The staff were very warm, attentive and helpful. The whole dinner experience was wonderful. I would... More

Went to Crush last night Feb 28. A group of 6. I was hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews on various social media sites. My wife and I are foodies, well travelled and eat out often. All I can say after the experience we had last night is that the previous reviews must be somewhat misguided, or they... More

The appetizers at Crush are large and tasty. We went for the three sister striped bass and the mushroom bolognese. The duck confit is excellent, but the organic sablefish was a touch on the bland side. The dark chocolate hazelnut cake was also very good. The atmosphere at Crush is great and so are the staff. Had the fish been... More

My wife and I were for Toronto winterlicious. The receptionist was very helpful, gave us coin change for the parking meter as it wasn't accepting credit card. Oysters, wine, food and service was exceptional. Wooden noisy floors. It was three quarters full and it was noisy. Ask to be seated by the wall. Maybe more quiet and private.

We loved the food and the wine. The dishes we tasted were wonderfully prepared and the presentation quite appealing. The food was just delicious. We paired our dishes with the wines suggested, and it was indeed the proper way to do it. The service was outstanding.

The restaurant is located at 455 King just west of Spadina. An excellent scallop appetizer was followed by an equally good organic sablefish. I tasted some of my colleague's bison strip loin and although she had ordered it well done (?), I would try it on my next visit cooked a little less. The dessert, a spiced pumpkin mousse was... I have been to Crush Wine Bar about 5 times now. I have had some amazing dishes there. My most recent visit was November 21st, 2014. Appetizer Chicken Fried Quail was definitely the best. Wow is all I can say. Really that good. The meat was juicy and it came with Jasmine rice which was the perfect balance with the... More

We stopped in at Crush for wine and appies and we were not disappointed. The front of the restaurant is first come first serve lounge seating and very lively. Our server recommended a fantastic bottle of red wine based on our taste discussion and we were not at all disappointed. If you want to have a casual bite and drink... More
