Nice patio

Been here a few times for coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, breakfasts, and desserts but it wasn't that great. It has a decent patio but I don't really see what the hype is. I'm big on coffees and I would not buy coffee here again. It has a funky taste to it.

Really nice restaurant, we had pizza and pasta and it was delicious. Not the largest wine list but the essentials are there and at good price. Will be back next time that I'll be in town.

Stopped here after exploring Little Italy. It was mid afternoon and they were very busy so I found the service a little slow but in saying that the owner (?) was out going around checking on people. The pasta was nicely cooked and piping hot. I sat inside but the patio area is a fab place to sit and enjoy... More

Getting a seat on the patio can be tough but inside is just as cool. It's almost like an italian style verion of a british pub. Food is good, pizza ok, good salad but I would not go here for much. Nice to hang out and just take time to eat. Some choices are a little too greasy.

Great corner patio. Service and food - ok. Not expensive! Excellent spot for people watching and enjoying the Little Italy vibe.

I decided to attend Toronto's Taste of Italy Festival for the first time and my friends and I walked the entire festival looking for a great sunny place to have lunch. Cafe Diplomatico had the best menu options (all places had special festival menus). We sat on their extended patio on the street in the sun. The servers were smiling... More

This old neighborhood staple is a great patio spot with very average, slightly over-priced food. Service is always hit or miss.

Located in Little Italy, Cafe Dip is a regular on our family circuit. Kid friendly and the people watching and the food is always good. Menu features standard Italian fare, pastas, pizza, salads etc.

We went there for food on a Sunday afternoon and the service was junk. We stood in doorway for about 5 minutes before we were seated. We were at our table for about 15 minutes and no one and by to give us a menu or take a drink order etc. Absolutely junk. I cannot tell u what the food... More

Patio and beer were great. Food was terrible. I had a pizza and my wife had a ceasar salad. Pizza ok, not great. Ceasar chicken not right, inedible. Both of us are crazy thirsty after the meal. Way to much salt. Even the coffee was terrible which used to be the reason I came to Cafe Diplomatic. next time beer... More

Staying in Little Italy

Neighborhood Profile
Little Italy
Toronto's Little Italy is a city hotspot for cafe culture and nightlife. There's something for everyone in Little Italy, apparent from the cross-section of clubbers in glitzy dresses, and elderly couples arm-in-arm heading to their favorite wine or pasta spot. Cafes spill onto the wide sidewalks, pool lounges and bars are always teeming with noise and activity, and both outdoor and indoor marketplaces are packed with fresh fish, cured meats, and pungent cheeses. All of the activity makes it a perfect spot for people-watching, especially over a nice glass of red wine or a quick and sumptuous slice of pizza at one of the many eateries or trattorias in the area.
