Patio and beer were great. Food was terrible. I had a pizza and my wife had a ceasar salad. Pizza ok, not great. Ceasar chicken not right, inedible. Both of us are crazy thirsty after the meal. Way to much salt. Even the coffee was terrible which used to be the reason I came to Cafe Diplomatic. next time beer... More

This is a great place to sit on the patio in the summer and watch a football match with a few beers and maybe some food. I would not recommend for a romantic date. The food is good, but you can get much better at Vivoli or Forchetta. The service is horrendous.

I can see why this place would get a range of reviews - it's casual, not likely to get a Michelin rating, and looks like it's been around for a few generations ('cause it has...), so like all things in life if you go in with the right set of expectations you have the best chance to enjoy the experience.... We dined at Cafe Diplomatico on a suggestion which we now regret taking. Once we walked in We felt like we were in a pizza parlor, not an authentic Italian restaraunt. The chicken parm was average and the side of grilled shrimp were small, unseasoned and cold (not right off the grill as grilled shrimp should be). The Pasta Alla... More

I remember coming down to Little Italy in University and Cafe Diplomatico was always a popular spot. Especially during World Cup soccer season. The deserts were good. I had not been in about 15 years but recently was in the area with a friend and he insisted I try the Tiramisu. It is easily the best I have ever had.... More

I havent been back to Toronto in several years, so when thinking where to catch up with friends, I had 2 restaurants in mind. Diplomatico was definitely one of them. Its a very simple place, super in the summer or on a warm day to sit on the patio and watch College St walk by. On my recent visit it... More

Ate here with a work colleague on a trip over from the UK. Good food informal atmosphere. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Value for money excellent.

Really looked foward to eating here but was sadly left disappointed. Went for lunch with my partner Service was terrible, wasn't acknowledged for 15 mins and even then I had to ask waiter to look after us. I ordered seafood linguini with white wine sauce but it came out with tomato sauce explained to waiter but couldnt care less. Id... More
