Description: Buca Osteria Enoteca is an Italian restaurant from the King Street Food...
Buca Osteria Enoteca is an Italian restaurant from the King Street Food Company (Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse and The Saint Tavern). The menu aims to combine the ingredient specificity of rustic Italian cuisine with the culinary finesse of fine dining, building recipes around fresh and seasonal produce, but using a number of classical culinary techniques as well. The beautiful and understated main dining room has soaring high ceilings, exposed raw brick, and iron beams - using the natural elements of the heritage building. Towards the back, beyond the open curing room, a smaller wine bar, the Enoteca, is sleek and private.

Delicious Cappuccino and Uova Strapazzate!

Stopped in for a cappuccino and uova strapazzate on a Saturday with a friend on the patio. Delish and service was great. See you again soon, Bar Buca.

Had brunch at Bar Buca with some friends and we all couldn't agree that it was amazing. Menu is not large during brunch but the options are fantastic. I personally had the focaccia with mortadella which was very tasty. In addition I tried the focaccia with egg and pulled pork which was also excellent. Nice change to the regular breakfast... More

Six adults went for a celebratory dinner and we all loved it. I think the meal was the better for our outstanding waiter who made everything sound delectable and delicious. He was knowledgeable about the beers, the wine and every dish we asked about. I did feel that the charcuterie platters, one cheese and one sausage were very skimpy but... More

We stopped in at Bar Buca for lunch. The sandwiches were amazing. On recommendation of the waitress I ordered the foccaccia with porchetta. Not for the faint of heart, but a wonderful sandwich. I plan to head back on my next visit to Toronto.

Our party of four adults had dinner here. What we liked: The food tasted good and the dishes were well presented. The staff were helpful or at least tried to be (when my husband wasn't happy with some of the red wines he sampled, the waiter remained patient and helpful). The lofty part of the restaurant had a nice atmosphere.... More

Just had Sunday brunch here with a friend and we have liked it very much. The food is delicious and they also have a great choice of brunch-cocktails and various coffees. We sat outside which was not special however the inside is lovely with a cozy atmosphere. Strongly recommended.

A luke warm greeting around 8pm for dinner. 45 minute wait. Not too crowded. No one offered a drink or appie while we waited. Finally went to the bar to order a drink to be totally ignored for 5 minutes. Finally, acknowledged, friend ordered a coffee and bartender smirked at him (espresso was ready awfully quickly). Finally seated.Shared tables which... More

Sleek and industrial looking with communal seating, it’s located on Portland just off King. We were there for lunch – reservations weren’t an option but it was only nicely crowded so we had no wait. We chose to do several sharing plates but I noticed many people looking for a quick lunch were ordering the stuffed focaccia. There are a... More

Bar Buca is down steps to a cavernous, industrial basement. It has a great atmosphere. We had glasses of wine or prosecco at the bar first. The Irish bartender was extremely knowledgeable and welcoming. The menu is very 'meaty' and rustic with lots of plates for sharing. We all found it delicious and unusual. The portion sizes aren't large but... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
