Great food - Sporadic Service

Bindia was booked for a birthday and it was great. The Samosas were delicious and so was the Lamb Vindaloo (tender and spicy). I had some crab and shrimp cakes which were unfortunately a bit gummy and tasteless. The Naan - plain and garlic - was fantastic. We enjoyed everything. I think our... read more

We waited over 30 minutes for a waitor to even take our order and the place was practically empty. You could hear the wife screaming at mike and she didn't care we were sitting there. Food was mediocre, similar to most indian restaurants except portions were very small and the price for what you got was ridiculously high. I won't... More

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent and moderately priced. Our server was attentive. Drinks were pricey but probably not unreasonable for Toronto. Would definitely go again, and again.

My husband and I just returned from a 10 day vacation in Canada and Maine and we both say this was our best meal of the trip. We shared vegetable samosas, he had chicken tikka and I had dal mahkni. Ended the meal with gulab jamun. Everything was just delicious. The service was very pleasant and attentive. I will go... More

Lovely decor, simple but hip. Nice patio seating available on old Market Street. The food was absolutely delicious! Tandoori Jumbo Prawns and garlic naan were a must! Service not so good. Not busy but didn't see server for over forty minutes once food arrived and two items forgotten. Worth a try!

Being British I love my Indian food. Cant find anywhere decent in Miami so coming to Toronto I found loads of Indian restaurants. I asked my bell hop to suggest the best one and he told me about Bindia. Bindia has only been open a few months, the décor is clean and the food is amazing, everything is fresh and... More

Good range of the India favour, very tasty and good service after a bit of wait to be seated. Price is reasonable but drink list is a bit limited

I took my parents to this restaurant in August 2014 as they were staying in the area. They went back for a second dinner in their trip of 5 days. Needless to say, we enjoyed it. I've also been back with my boyfriend for a dinner-date. The wait staff are extremely friendly, and are able to make excellent suggestions for... More

We went here for a work dinner, food was good, order down in terms of spice level, we had mild and found some dishes hot in spice flavor.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
