Very Good Food, Awesome Location, Okay Value

- very friendly and quick service - delicious, well presented Indian food - had a chicken curry that seemed a little healthier then most other Indian curries I've had (less oil or coconut cream...), so bonus there! - awesome location, right beside the St. Lawrence Market - not great value, a... read more

We had visitors from Vancouver and decided to try Bindia on Market street, as this newly renovated area near St. Lawrence market has alot of character. We started with 3 appetizers to share- The appetizers were really great- fish pakoras (tilapia) were fantastic as was the Sev Puri- really woke up your taste buds and a bit different than I... More

This was our first time at Bindia, and it was a good experience overall. The service was very good. The food was par for the course, and pricey for what you get. Indian food is fairly straightforward, and the recipes here are in line with other Indian restaurants we've visited. That said, none of the dishes at Bindia come with... More

Lovely food, slightly different taste to the food in Europe but nevertheless excellent. Nice place to go after a long day at St Lawrence Market.

Bindia is a nice little cozy restaurant tucked in corner alongside some of the best offerings near St. Lawrence Market. Found precisely in Market St. in what is perhaps one of the most interesting districts in Toronto Bindia offers great food from the subcontinent at relatively reasonable prices. What you may object in terms of price is quite well compensated... More

I've been visiting a friend in Toronto and we both love good indian food - over the last few visits i've been amazed at how poor the Indian food options are in Toronto - even highly rated ones on here leave a lot to be desired. NOT ANYMORE - Bindia excels all expectations - good service, great food, nice style,... More

We waited over 30 minutes for a waitor to even take our order and the place was practically empty. You could hear the wife screaming at mike and she didn't care we were sitting there. Food was mediocre, similar to most indian restaurants except portions were very small and the price for what you got was ridiculously high. I won't... More

Bindia was booked for a birthday and it was great. The Samosas were delicious and so was the Lamb Vindaloo (tender and spicy). I had some crab and shrimp cakes which were unfortunately a bit gummy and tasteless. The Naan - plain and garlic - was fantastic. We enjoyed everything. I think our server was a bit overwhelmed (there were... More

I really enjoyed my experience at this restaurant. The food was excellent and moderately priced. Our server was attentive. Drinks were pricey but probably not unreasonable for Toronto. Would definitely go again, and again.

My husband and I just returned from a 10 day vacation in Canada and Maine and we both say this was our best meal of the trip. We shared vegetable samosas, he had chicken tikka and I had dal mahkni. Ended the meal with gulab jamun. Everything was just delicious. The service was very pleasant and attentive. I will go... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
