Distillery District

Great chocolate shop in the distillery district. Small shop where you can see the chocolate being made on site.

Tempting Diet Buster Paradise! Need I say more? Enjoyed the red Papa New Guinea - truly does have notes of red fruit!

Omg .. I stopped here twice while in Toronto. Once in the distillery district and once on King St. The toffee and nut bark is awesome. I wish we had one close to me.

Not sure I would go out of my way to shop here, but definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Shop is small and prices are a bit high. But its craft chocolate so that's good. Nothing was going on the day we were there and the cashiers seemed a little uninterested. Just let us browse. I... More

I won't go out of my way to visit that place, but have a shot of dark hot chocolate (original or spicy) if you are in the area. You can also watch how chocolate is being made. They also have a museum piece - an old chocolate making machine that was brought there from Barcelona long time ago.

love love LOVE the chocolate here. Really interesting combinations of fruit, spices and dark and milk chocolate. The prices are not bad considering the quality of chocolate you get ($6 -9 per small bar). I did notice the bars have gotten smaller over the last few years. My favourites are Starry Night (dark chocolate with sea salt) and dark chocolate... More

This place every kind of chocolate you can think of. You can also see how they make the chocolate as well. Wanted to try everything.

Whilst on a trip to Toronto, we stumbled across Soma (after reading about it previously) on a particularly cold, snowy day and decided to buy a few various flavoured bars of simple, milk chocolate and decided we would return before we left, if it was good. If only we had known how good it is! We left it a little... More

I love Soma Chocolate. The Mayan Hot Chocolate is divine. The artisan small batch chocolates are always fantastic and the staff is super friendly and polite. If you can, you need to visit Soma

Having read the excellent reviews I tracked down the branch at 443 king street. The branch in the distillery district proved elusive. It is a decent walk from downtown- yonge street, along king street, past the theaters and just past spadina . Tried the gelato and the Mayan spice hot chocolate. The latter was good - if you don't like... More
