Description: In the heart of the historic St. Lawrence Market, G For Gelato and Pizza...
In the heart of the historic St. Lawrence Market, G For Gelato and Pizza Bar serves the finest gelato in Toronto, made with recipes passed down in the Polsinelli family for years. From classic roasted pistachio to creative flavor pairings like coconut basil, blueberry lavender, and London Fog (vanilla and Earl Grey tea), we make our gelato using the freshest ingredients and source many seasonal fruits and veggies from local farmers markets. In our cozy, rustic space, we also serve hand-tossed thin crust pizzas as well as foccacia paninis, frittatas, pastas, and fresh salads. Start your morning with our hand-crafted coffee and espresso drinks paired with a sweet pastry, or sit down and enjoy a leisurely lunch with our house favorite funghi pizza, a white pizza topped with mixed mushrooms, fresh arugula, and a drizzle of truffle oil. Need to bring a taste of Italy to your next celebration or corporate luncheon? We also cater and deliver at your convenience. For a sweet break in your day, sit and stay with us at G For Gelato and Pizza Bar for traditional Italian dishes, quiet conversations, and the best gelato in Toronto. We hope to see you soon!

One of the best gelato places in Toronto. This is not ice cream. The gelato here is authentic Italian gelato with natural flavours--much denser and less airy than ice cream.

Go here! This place is great- the servers are incredible, the guy serving me literally gave me like twenty samples, he just kept going- kind of giving me anything he thought id like while offering his favorites. So many choice of gelato! Captain Crunch flavor? Get out- childhood in a cup. We went here three times in two days for... More

We were looking for a breakfast place one Sunday morning and walked right past this place. Glad we tried this place. Great coffee and short, but good, selection of breakfast items (among other lunch and dinner items). They were very accommodating for substituting the ham out of my Express sandwich. Hubby had full hot breakfast that he cleaned off. Many... More

My son and I visited Toronto this summer on one very hot weekend. This place was recommended by my brother who lives close by.....and he was right on the mark. We visited 3 days in a row and tried a different gelato each time. The staff were friendly, helpful and patient while they allowed us to taste test the flavours... More

This is based on one takeout order. Superbly friendly wait staff and excellent selection of gelati. Prices are within standard range for Toronto. Hazlenut gelato was very fresh and portion was more than ample.

Great little Gelato Shop across from St. James Park in downtown Toronto. You can get a wonderful dessert and go across the street and enjoy it while listening to a concert in the park on a summer night. So many flavors and toppings to choose from!

Not sure if it is really one of the top 10 places for gelato in Toronto. The selection was good. The staff seemed patient (the guy before me couldn't make up his mind and kept changing his order and the order in which he wanted his gelato in the cup). I had the G for Gelato chocolate gelato and it... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
