Description: In the heart of the historic St. Lawrence Market, G For Gelato and Pizza...
In the heart of the historic St. Lawrence Market, G For Gelato and Pizza Bar serves the finest gelato in Toronto, made with recipes passed down in the Polsinelli family for years. From classic roasted pistachio to creative flavor pairings like coconut basil, blueberry lavender, and London Fog (vanilla and Earl Grey tea), we make our gelato using the freshest ingredients and source many seasonal fruits and veggies from local farmers markets. In our cozy, rustic space, we also serve hand-tossed thin crust pizzas as well as foccacia paninis, frittatas, pastas, and fresh salads. Start your morning with our hand-crafted coffee and espresso drinks paired with a sweet pastry, or sit down and enjoy a leisurely lunch with our house favorite funghi pizza, a white pizza topped with mixed mushrooms, fresh arugula, and a drizzle of truffle oil. Need to bring a taste of Italy to your next celebration or corporate luncheon? We also cater and deliver at your convenience. For a sweet break in your day, sit and stay with us at G For Gelato and Pizza Bar for traditional Italian dishes, quiet conversations, and the best gelato in Toronto. We hope to see you soon!

What is this magical place?

I'm in Toronto accompanying my mother for cancer treatments and surgery, and we had a rough day. She has to make some phone calls and wants the hotel room at precisely 105 degrees, so I went for a walk. What is this magical place?? The allure of beer and wine, gelato AND pizza under one roof was... read more

This is a great place to get authentic gelato in Toronto. The selection was great, and not only did they have gelato, they also had other food and drink. The atmosphere was very warm, the lady at the counter was super nice, and prices were pretty good. Definitely want to come back again sometime.

Comfortable place with a huge selection of gelato. Told that in summer there is over 30 to choose from. In Jan "only" had 12 or so. Friendly staff and the gelato was very good.

- Was staying at a nearby hotel and did not want to take transportation to go eat somewhere. Did not realize this was a cafeteria style restaurant. - The cheese/pep pizza was just OK as the sauce tasted like tomato soup from the can. - The caprese salad was decent but not the best I've had. - Did not have... I don't quite recall how the pizza was for dinner which I did have because my memory is clouded by the delicious Gelato. I had the Ferrero Rocher Gelato which was so rich in flavour, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a good quantity, decently priced. Good little place to go on a summer evening.

We took the train to Toronto to see "Motown" on November 28 and decided, since the weather was SO miserable (pouring, constant rain), to eat somewhere nice before the show. As always, I immediately went to "Trip Advisor" to check out reviews. We wanted a relaxed, delicious and easily accessible place to enjoy lunch. "G is for Gelato" jumped onto... More

The chocolate coconut, almond cinnamon gelato was terrific. Rich in flavour, but not heavy as some chocolate can be. My friend reported that her xcone was terrific, as well. Plus, there is a delightful view across St. James Park from the seats in the expansive west window.

You know how sometimes you go to an ice-cream place and after trying a couple of flavours, they start to make you feel like a freeloader? This is NOT one of those. We each tried one, then another, then another. Enough? Nope. The guy behind the counter wouldn't hear of it and kept giving us taster after taster after taster!... More

There gelato is good but expansive for delivery. Online ordering doesn't have all flavors listed. The pizza's are thin and crispy but include very little toppings, 1 mushroom cut in small pieces and maybe 2 slices of prochuito, nothing like the amount on there pictures.... The services is inexperienced and cold.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
