A great couple of hours

Went here on our last day for lunch. The beer was good, had a taster selection. Service was good. The food we had for lunch was tasty. Would recommend.

I went last night with a friend for a few beers and a quick bite. The place has a cool vibe and would be the sort of place you could hang out for the evening. The beer selection was large and the staff were very polite and knowledgeable. The food came fast but I did not find it anything special. I... More

A wonderful selection of beers (both local and international), great staff and warm atmosphere. Made a few new friends here, too.

Staff are pretty friendly & accommodating as always, which is lovely. The lounge feel where the fire place is nice. I had the veggie curry, which was tasty apart from one thing: the kale in it was raw, and I found the texture of chewy, leafy veg in the soft tenderness of the curry didn't work well. The curry itself... More

Thanks for your review. I will look into the kale situation immediately, that doesn't sound good. We always appreciate constructive feedback. Happy Thanksgiving! Erin More

Visited on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't too busy. We were able to get a table for four without waiting and that was a bonus. The food was excellent...I had the oxtail special and although it wasn't too spicy like I prefer it, it was very tasty and worth it. Others had the pulled pork which seems to be... More

Been wanting to try this place ever since visiting it's sister pub - Louis Cifer - and was not disappointed. We dropped in wanting to watch the Jay's game and the staff immediately put it on the TV for us. They have a whole host of good beers on tap, a lot of them are local craft beers. The food... More

I've been here on a cold winter day, sat near the fire place, played some board games, tried a bunch of new craft beers, learned a bunch of beer facts from the staff and overall had a great time.

This is the friendliest bar in the city. The lamb burger is wonderful. The quiz nights are fun but not invasive if you're not participating.

Found our way here while wandering around Cabbagetown as most of the other restaurants were full. Wandered into a pleasant surprise - friendly helpful bartender, best craft beer selection for blocks. Asked for restaurant recommendations, but ended up eating poutine and hamburgers and sandwiches in the front window and watched people for the remainder of the evening. Enjoyable.

While the beer selection was really nice both domestic micro brew and internationals, the food was above average but not blow you away good but lets be real....when you go to an Irish Pub you don't go for the food you go for the beer and the relaxed vibe and this has both. The back patio was cute and quaint... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
