Good environment

I honestly love the place. I go often to grab a drink of food after work. The staff most of the time is pretty nice and on point. On of their supervisor or manager (whatever it is the tittle) is always extra nice and go above.. (I guess his name is Mark) So if you are around.. don't doubt to... read more

Met friends for lunch. Atmosphere pretty good; typical of the Dukes, great waitress but different quality of meals. I was the envy of my friends as the chicken curry I ordered was really enjoyable. My friend had a tough steak on her salad, my hubby had a very greasy fish - but the chips were good. Another friend had the... More

This place has atmosphere! We went in on a very hot day for a nice cold beer and food, and weren't disappointed. The service was great and the food awesome! We stayed for hours as it was quite comfortable.

My wife and I like eating here before matinee movies at Yonge and Eglinton. The pub food is usually quite good and they serve half-priced bottles of wine before 4:00 p.m. The patio seating is usually at least partially shaded in the afternoon, otherwise just belly up to the bar or pick a booth and enjoy.

I have to use a gift card given to me by my daughter, who is a member of a rugby team sponsored by the restaurant. Went there for a quick lunch with my wife, food is great, service is great! Tried the ribs, which I think is only available during summer.

I went with my mother last week after work for an appetizer and a drink. The nachos were solid and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I moved into the area last fall, and was immediately welcomed by the Duke Staff, and locals at the pub feeling right at home. Excellent selection of pints on tap, with special beers rotated through for extra variety. The staff is awesome, and you're always greeted upon walking in the door, whether its middle of the day, dinner rush, or... More

My first experience here wasn't great, however the manager approached me the next time we were here and made up for that. Ever since then we've been regulars, and not had another negative experience since. The beer is reasonably priced; the food is slightly more than average, but if you're here anyway, why not. This place has some of the... More

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
