Had steak frites. Cooked perfectly. All the food we ordered was delicious. The apple pie was very good. Pastry was fantastic.

We had a great meal at Joey. Outstanding service from the moment you walk in - while waiting for our table they brought everyone water and offered free samples of various drinks (belini, red wine, etc). We had fantastic steaks and the restaurant has great ambiance. This restaurant is a mix of upscale dining and sports-bar - its perfect! We... More

I went here for lunch before a Blue Jays game with a group of 5 friends and we were all in Toronto for the first time. The hotel bartender had recommended Joey. We got a table right away and the waitress was very pleasant. She talked to us about the best places to go around the stadium and after the... More

We go here all the time and service is inconsistent. Sometimes it's poor and sometimes it's adequate. One time we were completely ignored by our waiter for 20 minutes while he was chatting up a newbie on staff. I had to flag down the manager to for service and she scolded the waiter for not looking after his own table!... More

The ambience at Joeys is great for a business lunch, I have had lots of these at Joeys. The service is very good from friendly staff. Food is nice, not super for the price. Drinks are OK, although they practise the modern policy of allowing good quality (and expensive) red wine by the glass, to sit overnight. As we all... More

We stopped at Joey's for drinks and appetizers last night with friends. The service was wonderful and our apps were delicious. Top that off with seats that open to the bustle of the downtown core, good background music that allowed us to chat and never being rushed. Will definitely return for a full meal. If the appetizers are a good... More

I have been to this location a few times, think 3 times already this year, twice for business and once with family. On my last visit they lost my reservation but made up for it quickly, getting us a booth within 10 minutes. The staff is always friendly, looking to chat and recommend dishes. I was a little sad they... More

I eat frequently at Joey in other cities, particularly my own. It's an easy choice for a variety of reasons. It's not fine dining, but the quality of food and customer service is far better than many independents. This particular restaurant is located on a busy street and although it wisely has no patio, it has large windows that open... More

Let's start with the best part: the service was amazing. Our waitress, Carol ("like Christmas Carol" - her words), was patient, friendly, attentive, kind, and funny. We visited for dinner after my brother's graduation. Our mother is an extremely picky eater and Carol patiently went over the menu with her to help her find something she could eat. They settled... Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
