Value for Price Lacking. Portion Sizes not Generous.

We joined family for a "business lunch" and I understand with the location, that this is probably their typical clientele, but I was underwhelmed by the experience and overwhelmed with the cost. Granted, I am not accustomed to Toronto prices so those, in themselves, take some adjustment. However, I... read more

We 3 walked in to the restaurant and were immediately taken back in time to the 20s. The style and ambience are evocative, and the paintings, murals and even tiles on the floor were eye-catching. The menu was interesting; my two companions had the PEI mussels (on the recommendation of our very helpful waitress) and I had the salmon. None... More

I had dinner here and was expecting much better food & service. It was very very slow, the staff didn't seem to care that it took 20 minutes to get some water. I also had limited gluten-free options and ended up asking for scallops without the 'decorative' faro (they were out of the fish I was planning on ordering...) and... More

Given the high prices it charges for food and wine, this restaurant should do better. The service was absolutely first-rate, perhaps because my host is a regular. The food is only OK, however. The cream of mushroom soup was good, though not as good as one I had in Niagara-on-the-Lake last week. The lobster sandwich was tasty but rather short... More

La societe is solidly..average. The service is good and the food is average. The decor is Parisian bistro and the patio in the summer time is beautiful. I eat here about 2-3 times a year and given my gluten free needs, I often pay more for the safer options and can't try many of the options that others enjoy so... More

I took the opportunity that Summerlicious bring to visit this restaurant. The food was superb we tried the Chicken and the Roasted Salmon, and we're pleased with the quality and quantity of the food. Our server was very nice and the attention was great. We seated

I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I will never come back. Trust me when I say it takes a lot for me to say this -- I am extremely disappointed in the service here. To me, people do not go out for dinner just to eat food. The reason we pay $100 is to have an experience,... More

We recently had a mid-week dinner here and it was great all around. Food had great flavor, really good service, great location and it's super clean. Don't expect big portions but do expect great taste. Nestled next to Cartier and Chanel, you'd expect great food and they certainly do deliver. One tip - save room for desert. Is well worth... More

Came for a social drink/dinner with friends. We really wanted to sit on the patio because it was such a nice evening but of us wanted the oysters and we were told you can't have the oysters if your out on the patio (weird). So we opted for the main menu and the patio air. Great food and drinks but... More

I really enjoy this trendy restaurant especially on Sundays when they have their Lobster Night. A great thing to do at the end of the weekend. Love all the extras that come with it. Also a place to see and be seen.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
Midtown is a dynamic part of Toronto with some of its most stylish high-rise residences and heritage buildings. The area sees busy shoppers with bag-laden arms balancing lattes in paper cups as they travel from one luxury brand to the next, taking advantage of the proximity of high-end shops. The reflecting pools, jogging trails, and nature treks of the Rosehill Revision are always a hub of outdoor activity, and after a workout from either running or splurging, many take advantage of the spas and massage parlors Midtown has to offer. Away from the bakeries, boutiques, and glamorous old theaters of the district's center, locals use the weekend to embrace the more suburban feel of Midtown's parks, tennis courts, outdoor markets, and the manicured grounds of Casa Loma, while families indulge the area's state-of-the-art playground and learning facilities. Of course, no high-brow district is complete without a healthy counter-culture: Midtown boasts some of the wildest street art and full-wall graffiti of any neighborhood in Toronto.
