Good and creative

Good, quality food. The place is very nice, the dishes are creative and yummy. The grilled calamari is excellent. The fried cheese is very good, the phyllo dough stuffed with minced lamb, spinach and feta is great.

My husband and I chose Volos for our post wedding dinner and we made the right choice! The service was impeccable and the food was top notch. The manager, Brittany, was a pleasure to deal with and accommodated all our requests, including having menus printed without prices. Our party of 10 arrived at the restaurant earlier than our scheduled reservation... More

Was looking for cuisine I normally do not have access to, this fit the bill. Waitress (Leela) provided very good recommendations on food and wine. Octopus and lamb were tasty, and I finished it with baklava. Reasonably priced and pleasant atmosphere.

My colleague and I went here the other day as part of the Summerlicious 2015 promotion. We were not disappointed - everything was superb! I started off with the kale salad - which was a bigger portion than I expected. My main course was the roasted lemon chicken with couscous and chickpea salad - the chicken was so tasty! And... More

We were invited to the restaurant by friend to celebrate the engagement of my eldest son. At first I was somewhat hesitant as I reviewed the menu of this downtown "upscale" Greek restaurant as the menu was missing most of the Traditional Greek appetizers that I am familiar with from eating at the numerous Greek restaurant establishments around Toronto. I... More

This is a Greek Restaurant in the heart of downtown Toronto. If you have been to Greek restaurants before and think they are all the same, then think again. This is definitely a different league higher than your typical Greek Taverna. The kitchen is open and you can see your food being prepared if you are near. We felt the... More

A few work friends and I went to Volos for a Friday lunch. It was amazing. 7 people and all our food arrived together. Our table had the grilled seabass, fisherman's stew and the moussaka. Portions were excellent. The moussaka was a bit on the salty side but still quite tasty. The fisherman's stew (pictured) was delicious and very fulfilling.... More

What terrific food! Did not know what to expect but was so pleasantly surprised. Sumptuous dolmades and melt in your mouth veal. My friends ordered the Cornish hen and it was thumbs up around the table. The service was great too. Will definitely go back.

It's hard to be a Greek restaurant in a city that boasts the fun and lively Danforth Greektown, but if you want fresh and delicious Greek food far from cliche, this is the place. It's fast becoming my favourite Greek restaurant in Toronto. The calamari is grilled, miles away from the fried stuff you get at chain restaurants. The Horiatiki... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
