This restaurant was extremely disappointing. I chose Boehmer because of its location in a great neighbourhood, and the fact that it had availability. The food is good but over-priced. They also charge for bread which, at their prices, seems cheap. The decor of the restaurant is fantastic, but it is extremely loud. We were a bigger group of 10 and... More

A continued star in the recently trendy area of the "Ossington Strip", the menu leans towards local fare with a bit of fusion influence. The scallops and lobster with a mild Thai curry is excellent as is the Venison Tartare. Quail is also an excellent appetizer choice. I really like the Harvest section of the menu that allows a selection... More

We dropped in for a cocktail after dinner at another restaurant and were seated in the funky, intimate lounge area. Toronto is currently experiencing a love affair with the retro-cocktail and Boehmer had a great selection of various Martinis as well as classics like the Manhattan and Rob Roy. I started with the delicious French Martini and didn't vary the... More

For appetizer, we sampled the beet salad, Escabeche of Seared Rare Tuna, quail, and calamari. I liked the beet salad (pairing of beets, goat cheese and arugula). The quail and rice was delicious, though I am not a fan of sweet in savoury. We all enjoyed the calamari. For main, I had the beef cheeks. I didn't know what I... More

I'll start by saying that the restaurant is gorgeous: wood, concrete, tables nicely spaced out throughout the restaurant. On the saturday we were there, we had a server that seemed confused and did not explain the menu at all (we heard about it from hearing another server explain special items to another table). All in all, it was an expensive... More

Where to start. Two of us for dinner, the restaurant was quiet. Our waitress was new but did a great job. It was the kitchen and management that let her down. I ordered a simple chicken pasta carbonara and that's where things went sideways. The pasta was perfectly cooked but the dish showed up minus the carbonara. Just dry noodles.... More

We had dinner here with friends recently and enjoyed the evening very much. Great atmosphere with lots of buzz but not overwhelmingly loud. Menu was impressive with lots of emphasis on local fare. Venison tartar a highlight; and a definite must to have next time round; seared tuna lovely, foie gras outstanding...mains were fabulous...as were desserts...very nice wine list as... More

I came to Böhmer thanks to a recommendation from friends and I agree with their opinion, this place is great. We sat at the bar for dinner where the bartender-Mike who was very personable and easy to talk to talked through the food, wine and cocktail menu. We ordered wine and he poured water for us. We had the scallops... More

Great atmosphere, hip with a great decor. I went for dinner on a Saturday night and the restaurant was busy. My wife and I did not have reservations so we waited for 5-10 minutes in the lounge. Our table was ready before our cocktails arrived. We started with the harvest menu, olives, salmon, and fresh house made chipotle sausage. Everything... More

Went for a big group dinner, as many have stated, the ambiance and looks of the place are great, food was pretty average, and in the case of the steak I had, well below average (tasteless, over-buttered).
