Casual excellence.

This restaurant is consistently one of my favourites in Toronto. Warm and professional service matched with excellent food and wine. The kitchen has a fine touch with great ingredients. The portions are appropriate and flavourful. A gem on Dundas West.

I went there with a friend and we have been disappointed. We were expecting better for the price. We found the menu choices limited. We had the arancini, the mezzaluna, and the acqua plazza, for about 60$ total. 2 of the 3 dishes we ordered were not really flavorful. The acqua plazza was really good, just a bit too salty.... We were greeted by a young lady who had very little professionalism. We were a large group, 10 people, they had not paid attendtion to our reservations and we were left to go next door for a beer to wait. Unfortunate experience, but the food was very good. I hope they find a replacement hostess for my next visit. Prices... More

I feel like I may have missed something here. We went here based on these amazing reviews. Happened to be very nearby so my husband and I and another couple went for dinner. The service was unattentive at best. The staff seemed a little immature/young - but not in a fun way. Our table was in the middle of the... More

We had a great evening. It was worth the short cab ride. The decor is rustic and while it is not a fine dining decor the food and service are incredible. Innovative dishes as well as traditional Italian. We tried both at our table and everyting was delicious. The server was a treat and made a great wine recommendation, the service... More

On a warm summer evening, the patio here is the place to be for a delicious meal, terrific wine and attentive service. Important to note that we are low carb eaters and you can have an amazing meal at this Italian restaurant - the menu offers so much more than pasta and risotto! Last night, we split 3 appetizers and... More

We were impressed with the venue, the service and advice provided by the waiter at our table and, last but not least, with the food we ordered. Whilst the serves are not huge they are in my opinion more than ample. It is quality rather than quantity which makes the food in this restaurant outstanding. There were seven of us... More

Start to finish, Enoteca Sociale created an incredible eating experience for my husband and I. We started with cocktails... they were delicious and fresh. For an appetizer, we ordered the cheese board and the charcuterie board. Our waiter was careful to ask what kinds of cheeses we enjoyed and he chose perfect compliments. But the star of the show was... More

Pasta was hand made to order and totally awesome, I had the ragu, almost ordered a second one... The plate of cured meat and cheese is all made in house, almost no restaurant does this still to this day... Wine was reasonably priced and they can make a great negroni... I'd recommend this place all day long... I'm abit of... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
