Went to dinner here with my husband and another couple on the recommendation of a friend. We were given 9:00 reservation because the owner said they were so busy. We got there and no it wasn't busy. So I introduced myself to the owner and mentioned my friend sent me, he said he would be by my table later. So... More

I took a group of business friends to Carisma for a celebratory lunch last week and the food and service were outstanding. As we sat down, I asked our waiter if we could have some antipasto to share and within a few minutes, two beautiful platters arrived piled with tiger shrimp, calamari, warm mushrooms on greens, prosciutto - all delicious.... My wife and I enjoyed a special dinner at Carisma on a Monday evening. The service and the meal were excellent. It is located quite close to the King Edward hotel. The decor is a basic black, but this focuses your attention on your dining companion and the food. The waiters were attentive without being overbearing. The wine list is... More

We almost gave this place a pass because it was right next door to the hotel. Strange psychology indeed, but one night we walked by and it looked so enticing we had to pop in. The room is very dark - the walls and ceiling are painted black - with pops of red roses illuminated by the flicker of candles.... More

The appetizer salad with warm mushrooms was very tasty. For the main course I had Vitello Porcini, more mushrooms. All was very good. The choices of wine also fantastic. The Chianti was excellent. The waiters all have beautiful Italian accents, you think you were in Italy.

I recently organized a 70-person dinner at Carisma - and was absolutely astounded! From organizing the menu weeks in advance, to an absolutely flawless execution the evening of the event - the management and staff at Carisma were top-class. The servers exhibited the highest level of grace and professionalism as they expertly maneuvered the restaurant with full bowls of soup... More

We chose this restaurant based on its location and reviews. We were not disappointed in any way. The atmosphere was pleasant and there was adequate space around the tables (not always the case, especially downtown). We had a time restriction, and without making us feel rushed at any point they were able to keep us on schedule. The staff was... More

We had been before for a family birthday and quite enjoyed our experience. The ambience, food and service were great. We even tried to return but could not get a reservation. Last night was the exact opposite. We were 15 people celebrating a birthday. When the waiter was asking us for drinks he seemed quite unraveled. When someone ordered a... More

We were staying at the King Edward hotel in May, 2014, and decided to try the restaurant right beside the hotel - Carisma. At first it didn't look like we would get in, but my wife's gentle persuasion secured a cozy table for two near the bar. The ambiance was very romantic with roses in vases on the wall, and... More
