Surprisingly Nice

I picked this restaurant from the summerlicious guide in Toronto. I have never been there before but decided to try it. I sat outside on the patio at a couch table beside Yonge Street. It was great. I was able to stretch out with plenty of room, I could watch the people and cars go by and there are... read more

Visited Houston with family for Summerlicious. Food was average. Service was average to good. My advice, dont come to this place if you have kids 2 and below. Very kids unfriendly place. Its in a busy touristy area so I was surprised that they did not even have high chair avail. Oh well. I would come back only for drinks... More

Stop in for some snacks and drinks and the kitchen was already closed at 10 pm. We just had one beer and a mixed drink and the bill was around 22.00. Little pricey I think.

I went for dinner with a group last weekend. The NY striploin I ordered was overcooked and tasted as though it was freezer burned. I've had better steak with eggs at Denny's. My brother ordered a rib eye but received a prime rib. Once he informed the waiter who apologized for her error and informed us she would place the... More

There was a group of 9 of us. Our cousin was visiting from London England and we were celebrating his birthday. We received the worst service we have ever received at any restaurant. First the restaurant on a Friday evening at 8:30pm was almost completely empty however we were seated in a booth adjacent to the washrooms. It took 20... More

Amazing!!!! We have been here several times and each time it exceeds our expectations. Would recommend the lobster mac and cheese as a main and also their steaks...all delicious and cooked PERFECTLY to order. For appetizers I go for the tuna each time and can't seem to stay away. Fresh. Flavourful. Exactly what you would expect of a $$$ restaurant.... More

My husband and I popped into Houston 's for a quick meal prior to a concert at the Air Canada Centre. Service was beyond slow. It took half an hour to get two glasses of water. The drink my husband ordered couldn't be made cause the bar was ill stocked. The server forgot to mention it to him until we... More

I wasn't the biggest fan of the decor but the staff were very friendly and the food was good (not great but not horrible). I came during the week so the restaurant was half empty. its kind of a mix between an upscale sports bar and a fushion restaurant.

I came here to celebrate my milestone birthday with a group of 23 guests. The service was spectacular. They were very accommodating and ensured that everything went smoothly from beginning to end. I did a cocktail style at the beginning, while waiting for all of my guests to arrive. Then we had dinner in one of their private rooms -... More

I wanted to host a client event after work with drinks and appetizers. I reached out to them and worked with Shannon Nicoll on setting everything up for the event. She was wonderful to work with. When it came to host the function, we had Diana taking care of us. She was amazing. She always was smiling, happy to help... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
