Good brunch

Interesting menu choices. If you have a picky eater in your group they may have a difficult time finding something to eat. I wish I could give half-points because the food was definitely above "average" but I also wouldn't say it was "very good". It wasn't busy when we went, but we heard that... read more

Came here on Mothers Day and had an absolutely amazing brunch. We arrived 15 minutes before they opened and thank goodness we did because the lineup was starting at that time. We started off trying each of the donuts. Almond bourbon, caramel chocolate, rhubarb and maple bacon. Each one was absolutely incredible. I wanted to go back for more later.... More

Two friends and I had plans to visit the theatre (Ronnie Burkett's "Daisy Theatre" at Factory Theatre, Queen and Bathurst area) and wanted to grab a bite to eat, beforehand. After a Google searches we decided on Beast. What a GREAT decision. I was delighted when I pulled up in front of the restaurant - a modest yet funky building... More

After all these + reviews, I had to check it out. The place was almost packed when we showed up for brunch at 11am. It was a bit noisy and smelled like the kitchen. Menu was intriguing and seemed a bit innovative. (If you are looking for healthy items then this may not be the place for you!) The maple... More

Crab cake eggs benedict was fantastic, as was the homemade ketchup and two hot sauces. Friendly and accommodating staff. Best to make reservations for dinner but for brunch they don't take reservations, it's first come first serve basis.

I agree with some of the reviews below. I don't understand why this place gets such good ratings. It was a big disappointment. It's basically overpriced mini dishes...and the food is not even all that good. The dinner menu is tapas and tapas is meant for sharing, so why have a dish with one little rib on it?? You cannot... Nice restaurant with very interesting menu. The dinner formula gives you the possibility to taste several dished without being overloaded. The service is friendly and quite reliable and I got good advice on what to select on how to compose my dinner. The wilde boar sausage was delicious as well as a small dish of tripe not to mention the... More

I visit the beast regularly for brunch. I always take visiting guests and recommend it when people ask for recommendations. Overall the service is solid, but the restaurant is usually busy due to its popularity and quality. I have sampled most of the menu, and everything that I've had is good. My favourites are the pork hocks and the beastwich.... More

My wife and I met friends for brunch at Beast, and we were a group of 7 (including our daughter). The staff was happy to help us figure out our seating and had no problem making space for our booster seat for our daughter. The food was excellent! My wife had one of the benedicts and really enjoyed her meal,... More

My husband and I met up with another couple at this cosy, neighbourhood restaurant for a not so ordinary weekday brunch. The weather was beautiful so we sat on the patio. Our server was friendly and unobtrusive. Two of us ordered the 'beastwich,' a fried chicken thigh open faced sandwich, that proved to be both satisfying and filling. I struggled... More
