Wonderful Brunch

My wife and I wanted a good brunch spot, and Beast was well-reviewed. We arrived a few minutes before they opened, which was a good thing. When they opened, we were seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and helpful, with lots of knowledge of the menu. All of the food was excellent, and the... read more

Second time at Beast and thoroughly enjoyed both visits! Great patio at the front off of King Street so its nice and quiet on a residential tree lined street. The menu changes often and all locally sourced. We shared about 5 or 6 tapas styled dishes - enjoyed all of them. Each dish had numerous ingredients that tasted fantastic and... More

This is a tapas style restaurant - with the most incredible food! We got tired of saying "This is really good!" because we literally said it for every plate that came out! There were unusual dishes but all were very tasty. Service was occasionally a little slow, but as long as you are not in a hurry, it really wasn't... More

We attended the "Garcon! French Cuisine, Refined - Even If You Aren't!" dinner at The Beast dinner organized by U-feast with resident chef Scott Vivian, guest chef Ned Elliott and guest chef Matthew Gaudet. We drank a cocktail by Jamie Martyniuk of Union Local 613 in Ottawa. During the meal we drank wines from Château des Charmes (@mbosc) Wines. We... More

Don't know why it took me so long to write this review. Went there last July for Wedding/Engagment party. Great area of the city. Restaurant is not large so make reservations. Tried a little of everything with friends. Delicious, fresh and great ingredients. Staff was also very friendly, good wine selections. The Roasted Bone Marrow was a favorite with cinnamon... More

I really enjoyed this restaurant. It's tucked into a quiet neighborhood and has an off-the-beaten path feel. The food on the brunch menu was incredible. I had the pollo loco sandwich and my friend had the beastwich. We were both really pleased. I would strongly recommend this place.

I really like this place. The atmosphere is laid back and the service is the same, which I really liked. The food was absolutely gorgeous from the oysters to beets, trout, hocks and Canadian wines. There are not enough adjectives for this place - cross your fingers you can get a reservation and GO!!

It is a bit off the beaten track for location and food and we consider that a good thing. We were there on a wednesday with the wines 50% off (we did not know but it was a pleasant surprise). Nice patio. Highly recommended.

I was surprised that it was small plates. The server explained it very well. And did a good job overall. The selection was good and things came out hot. The Pork Hock was the hit. One thing that was a bit underwhelming was the pickles. I had a Rum Punch and would never gave it again but my wife's Cider... More
