A Fun Atmosphere but be prepared for the Noise

Japanese Tapas (does not do Sushi). The staff is constantly cheering and shouting out greeting in Japanese to everyone as they enter and leave, so it is noisy but a very lively and fun atmosphere. Very interesting Tapas dishes and drink menu. Tried quite a few and all were good. Seating is at... read more

I don't wish to sound like a grumpy old lady (I'm 27) but do not go to this restaurant if you are looking to catch up with a friend you haven't seen for a while or really wish to have any conversation at all. As other reviews say the staff all shout about...well everything really. They shout a greeting for... More

Fun place. Lively, aka very noisy. In one section you have to take your shoes off but the tables are reset into the floor. Poor waitresses though. Food was good, but I am not crazy about this sort of food. Forget the tongue...yuk. Salmon and beef carpaccio delicious. Saki good. Moderate to expensive. Don't think you are the special one,... Japanese Tapas (does not do Sushi). The staff is constantly cheering and shouting out greeting in Japanese to everyone as they enter and leave, so it is noisy but a very lively and fun atmosphere. A group of 10 of us went here for a birthday and wow, what an evening. This place was a total shock. From the moment we entering into a wall of noise and a hive of activity to the moment we left we were all totally and pleasantly surprised! The staff all shout a greeting the moment you walk through... More

I went with my family here for dinner on a Sunday night (7 PM). We did not make reservations and were lucky we did not have to wait as the place was packed right after we sat down. My kids (8 & 10 years old) loved the food and being able to join in the collective greeting (yelling) of patrons... More

Their dinner menu is very delicious and offers amazing choice as well as value. I do have to say however that their lunch is much different. It is more similar to fast food than restaurant food.

Went for late lunch near closing at 2pm. Total mellow and no lines. Tried unusual peanut butter dan dan mien ramen that was delicious!

Guu Has been my #1 Favourite restaurant for 3 1/2 years now. I have been here over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. This place is full of real Japanese food and culture . Some of my favourite dishes are: Sweet Shrimp, Baked mushroom Oysters, hot stone bibimbap, and the okonomiyaki, all of which go down great with... More

The place looks incredible. The staff is very friendly. The food is delicious. It is noisy, yes, but that is what an Izakaya is! Just loosen up and have fun. We made reservations on the Internet, the place was practically packed on a Tuesday. We ordered 7 dishes + a dessert (a great cheesecake), everything was tasty and the portions... More
