Great Restaurant, Fantastic Staff

What a great place!! I had organized a group of ladies for a day out at the Christmas Market, and really didn't want to eat where we would feel rushed or ignored because of how busy the market was. So,I made a reservation, as this is a short walk from the distillery district. It couldn't have been... read more

I organized a work lunch here before we headed to mini-golfing down the street. I was able to make a reservation and everything was ready as soon as we arrived. Everyone enjoyed the food (typical pub food) and I was able to order something gluten free. Service was quick and friendly and I would come back again - perhaps to... More

With voracious Sunday morning appetites we decided to indulge in the offerings of the Keating Chanbnel Pub. It was near noon and as we approached the pub it had the resemblance of a deserted cottage except for an OPEN sign in the window indicating there was life inside. Indoors the cavernous, dimly lit room reflected shades of black making it... More

This pub is tucked away in a beautiful spot overlooking the water at Portlands near the Distillery District. There is live music from time to time and the food is reasonably good. Outdoor seating with a view of the water and the sunset is spectacular and indoors on the comfy armchairs in winter is almost as nice

Service was terrible. We were sitting on the patio and had placed our food orders before other tables we were still sitting waiting for our food when the other tables had been served and they were leaving already! Food was quite good but by that time we were not in a happy mood to eat.

We were looking for a restaurant close to the Odysseo show set up in the temporary tent on the portlands land. We found the Keating Channel pub and decided to try . We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal we had. All of us ordered something different and all of the food was very good. We sat... More

Went and saw Kurios this past Saturday October 4th (8pm show) and decided to give the Keating Channel a go before the show. Found this venue through searching for restaurants within close proximity to the Cirque du Soleil location at the Portlands. Literally 1 block away which was amazing. Our server even invited us to leave our cars in the... More

I like the proximity to the Portlands. You could walk to the restaurant from the parking for the show. we did not enjoy part of our meal; however, the owner came by to apologize and remove the meal from our bill. We had one server that was quite attentive while the other (the main one) did not even come by... More

The best thing I can say about this pub and grill is its location. In an attempt to have a decent bit of grub before the cirque de soleil event, we ventured to the Keating Pub and Grill 1.5 before the event was to start. Upon arrival and young man chatted about the cirque and knew we were attending. Ordered... More

I have driven past here on many occasions and was looking for the right moment or event to try it out. Since i was attending Cirque du Soleil, this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When we first walked in, I thought they were closed. I had called ahead for reservations expecting it to to be packed due to their location... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
