Good location if you are seeing one of the travelling shows

Went and saw Kurios this past Saturday October 4th (8pm show) and decided to give the Keating Channel a go before the show. Found this venue through searching for restaurants within close proximity to the Cirque du Soleil location at the Portlands. Literally 1 block away which was amazing. Our server even invited us to leave our cars in the... More

I like the proximity to the Portlands. You could walk to the restaurant from the parking for the show. we did not enjoy part of our meal; however, the owner came by to apologize and remove the meal from our bill. We had one server that was quite attentive while the other (the main one) did not even come by... More

The best thing I can say about this pub and grill is its location. In an attempt to have a decent bit of grub before the cirque de soleil event, we ventured to the Keating Pub and Grill 1.5 before the event was to start. Upon arrival and young man chatted about the cirque and knew we were attending. Ordered... More

I have driven past here on many occasions and was looking for the right moment or event to try it out. Since i was attending Cirque du Soleil, this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When we first walked in, I thought they were closed. I had called ahead for reservations expecting it to to be packed due to their location... More

A great outdoor spot right on Keating Channel. While a number of the tables outside were busy, inside was completely empty - and this place is huge. I was a little nervous since it wasn't busy but the food was actually really good. Not gourmet but really tasty. We had "indian nachos" which were really good, especially if you like... More

This restaurant was close to where we have to park our buses down in Cherry Beach. We came in 3 buses from out of town with a group that went on a boat cruise. This place was recommended by one of the drivers with us, who has eaten there before. Said the food was good. The 3 of us arrived... More

We shared lunch with friends on the patio, at this restaurant on the water in Toronto. The guys had tasty beef and chicken pies, with puff pastry toppings and veggies. My husband said there were large chunks of meat in his beef pie as was our friend's chicken one. One of the women had salmon with extra veggies which she... More

In the summer there are few on the water spots to dine or hang out. Drive and park for free right off the Cherry Beach bridge. Lovely shaded, or sunny patio, right on a channel, view of the city, tasty food. Found the portion of fish and chips to be scant, ask for more chips at least. Very affordable, pleasant... More

I like stopping in here when I go for walks near Cherry beach or to shows at Sound Academy. I really like their patio. Service is a bit slow sometimes. I've ate here once and only had the nachos and they went great with my beer :)

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
