Fancy but too expensive

The restaurant has a really good reputation but I think it's overpriced. Every time I'm in Toronto I go one night to eat there and usually take the salmon (grilled or with the pistachio crust) and it's a nice meal but not that nice for the price to be almost the same as the "New York" cut.

The quality of food sucks. Whether in Fort Mac, Toronto, or Vancouver. Staff is great, bur steak quality is poor, not Alberta beef, for sure. I work n Fort Mac, they did millions in reno's, but doesn't change food quality, most times they run out

We were very much looking forward to visiting Keg - as 'out of towners' we had heard much about it. The ambience and atmosphere were amazing but we were advised of the no bookings policy so with 6 of us we were told to expect a 2 hour wait. So instead we found a table in the lounge area (nice... This was the second visit in a mater of a week. The Keg steakhouse is a well known establishment. To my understanding I viewed it a notch below the more notable steak houses that are single establishments and not franchise structured. I cannot speak of other locations so it is this location I will evaluate. One week earlier I took... More

Had dinner at the Keg Steakhouse with a business colleague and really enjoyed great food from start to finish in a nice restaurant. The restaurant is an upscale but energetic restaurant in the financial district, apparently frequented by business people and people having a fun evening. The interior is modern with dark tables and subdued lighting. Our table was a... More

Great steaks at a very reasonable price and location was great. Staff were very friendly . The menu has lots of options even if you don't want a steak. I have been there several times and it's very consistent. Great for a business lunch or entertaining with family.

This restaurant is about five blocks north of the Royal York Hotel. Good steak, good seafood, good portions., not overpriced. Unless you like loud music, get a table in the dining room. The tables in the bar area are high noise. This restaurant is always full at peak hours. Be prepared to wait.

Popped in for dinner, having noticed the restaurant the night before, a friendly welcome and a buzzing restaurant around 9pm. The menu was full of steaks and we had a superb filet mignon, and scallops wrapped in bacon for a starter. Great atmosphere, super food a good wine selection, we war impressed

Definitely worth a reservation for an early meal, and absolutely worth the wait for a later meal. My escargot was delicious. My salad was crisp, and well seasoned. The real treat was the main course. First, my main was the special..steak, marinated in honey mustard, rolled in pecans, topped with goat cheese. I ordered mine med rare, and as expected,... More

Staying in Downtown West

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
