A Tasty Supper with the Family

Had supper at Harbord House on Friday night June 5, 2015. We booked reservations. Table was ready on time for us. The waitress was excellent, everything was timed correctly. I found my Hoser Burger very tasty.

A wonderful casual gastro pub with excellent food, great service and reasonable prices. The bread pudding is a sweet delight. From a yummy Sunday brunch to a casual weekday dinner the food will not disappoint.

Harbord House is a gastropub - just as advertised. They have a good selection of beers including craft varieties. The decor is sort of English Pub meets Canadian Cottage. The staff were very friendly without being overbearing. I had the lobster club sandwich (which was a special - not on the usual menu), while I watched the Jays at the... More

Read a review about this place as needed to find somewhere near bloor and Bathurst for dinner last Friday. Three of us ate and everyone's meal was delicious. My sister loved her pork with the braised stuffed pears, my husband had chicken pot pie said it was great and I had the fish tacos which were perfectly seasoned and accompanied... More

Harbord House has been my go-to spot for lunch or dinner since moving to the Annex in 2013. The staff are always very friendly (and accommodating when we bring the kids ). The service is quick. I think I've tried almost everything on the menu and have enjoyed it all. My husband and I especially enjoy the french onion soup,... More

We go to Harbord House often because the food is great, the service is outstanding and we love the beer. Ask for the owner he wears Robert Graham shirts, really cool!

Our first experience here. The atmosphere was great. I ordered the fish & chips but substituted salad instead of fries. The salad was good however the fish tasted terrible, the oil tasted old and unsatisfactory for an $18 dollar meal. My husband is a rib nut and subsequently ordered the ribs. He found them overly dry and that they compensated... More

Great gourmet pub experience with an excellent variety of beers both tap and otherwise. Our group of 4 ordered several dishes both to share and as mains. All were delicious and extremely fresh. Definitely recommend it for weekend brunch.

Harbord House is charming with a porche and also a second floor extra bar. Harbord street is away from the main traffic and many other charming restaurants make a great entertainment atmosphere. The calamares are excellent combined with a blonde draft beer.

My husband, a friend and I popped in here before we hit up a Fringe show across in the University campus area. This is a great location - just off Spadina, you can catch the Spadina street car, or its a quick walk to the Subway on Bloor. If you are not in the mood for Asian or higher end... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
