Great pub

It's difficult to find a decent English style pub in Canada but this was probably one of the closest. We were stopping at the Chelsea Hotel and this is just over the road. It looks small from the outside with a bit of outdoor seating, but upstairs there is a lovely indoor lounge bar with more... read more

They offer you coffee in mismatched coffee mugs which I think makes the place cozier. However, the food was average. The grilled grapefruit was a nice touch.

Went to this place on my first and last day in Toronto (it was across the road from my hotel). Food was brilliant and so was the beer!

We went to the Q&B on a downpour day after the Art Gallery. The service was excellent and while next door was a great pub, we had no issue with having our kids there at all. Meals were more akin to gourmet home cuisine than any restaurant I've been to - truly like being invited over to your gourmet chef... More

It was pouring all day when we went for lunch. The staff were cheerful and service was very good. My guest had eggs benedict which she really enjoyed, the home-made scone making all the difference. My buck rabbit was rather disappointing. The bread was burned at one end and the amount of rabbit was so measley that I couldn't taste... More

Traveled up to Toronto to see the second Rush show and found this little gem. We were lucky enough to sit on the patio and enjoy the nice weather (far cry from South Carolina and South Florida weather.) My brother had the Midlands Curry and I had the Fish Pie. Started off with some of that wonderful cured Halibut. Excellent... More

A group of us were there for beer. They were pretty slow with service. We ate dinner before which was very good but a bit in the pricy side, had the guest beer which was a nice local IPA.

This is likely one of the best British Pubs outside of the UK. The authentic pub food borders on gourmet... from rabbit dishes, to pub favourites like leek pies, and fish/chips... nothing on the menu is bad. Also, their mushroom pithivier is over the top good and they have a great selection of cask ales and brews. The setting cool...... More

The Queen and Beaver Public House is an absolutely solid choice for lunch or dinner or a quick pint. My most recent visit was for lunch. The smoked salmon sandwich was delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. This place can get busy but it's worth giving a try. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. If the main floor... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
