We came here after reading the reviews that this was one of the best Ethiopian Restaurants in Toronto and were not disappointed. The place had a really nice atmosphere and the wait staff was very patient and helpful with us choosing our orders. The food was plentiful and excellent. Service was a bit slow but this in no way dampened... More

I came hungry and had to drag myself out happy and full. Every bit as good as last time and really fast service as always. I asked for a bit extra because I was starving! They gave me a lot extra and I devoured it as if it was my first meal of the week instead of my fourth for... More

I intended to have a small late night snack the other night, so I though why not Ethiopian food? This being my first time having Ethiopian on the Danforth, I went to Rendez Vous. We were greeted and seated quickly, and got offered some hot spiced tea, which I highly recommend on a freezing night. As I am familiar with... More

Tasty Ethiopian food. Didn't love the tables because they were kind of hard to sit at. A few sketchy wires running around the place but didn't seem like a major problem. I didn't have any problem with the lighting and menu that is mentioned in a few other reviews. Waitress seemed a little shy or maybe lacking in English at... More

We made reservations to this place and did well, as the restaurant was pretty full. The personnel is very friendly. The service is a bit slow, but it did not bother us. We chose one plate of vegetables and one of meat. It came on one big platter with the delicious bread. We had leftover for lunch the next day.... More

I'm come back time and time again for this food. it is probably the best Ethiopian place around Toronto :P... but maybe I shouldn't say that since I don't' want it to be packed all the time.

I read the most recent reviews of this restaurant and decided to have my son's birthday supper there. When we arrived on a cold December Monday there were only a few people sitting by the bar. After a while we were given menus. I noticed in their beer menu the ale was called 'Ali' and the lager was called 'larger'.... More

Staying in East End

Neighborhood Profile
East End
The East End is an eclectic amalgamation of areas that team up to make this district one of the most multi-faceted and alluring. Home to Toronto's LGBT community hub, Gay Village is alive and pumping day or night with friendly bars, nightclubs, and cafes – its thumb is on the pulse of excitement. For a more relaxed day, the East End has the largest collection of restored Victorian homes, and its stately streets, tree-lined and bursting at the seams with affluence, often sport farmers markets and street artists, epitomized by the effusive St. Lawrence Market. One of the most gorgeous of Toronto's neighborhoods, it also straddles Lake Ontario in an area called The Beach, where you'll find folks cycling and strolling along the sandy shorelines, getting some sun or enjoying shopping, dining, and pub options. For some fabulous food, the vivacious personalities running the restaurants in the East End's Greektown is only equaled by the fun and authenticity of the street stalls and restaurants at its expansive Indian Bazaar. 'Something for everyone' has never been so accurate.
