Since it's a "French" restaurant I was looking forward to a real French omelette. Instead we got fried eggs with some filling. The side order of "frites" was underdone. When I asked the waiter if the French chef was in the restaurant I was told that they have a different chef for lunch.

Mogette changed ownership in or about July 2014. We dined there last year, just after it changed hands and the result then was disjointed service and nothing memorable from the kitchen--not awful but not great. Fast forward to July 2015: as we live close to this and many other restaurants on the Mount Pleasant Road "strip", we thought to try... More

I had the pleasure of dining at Mogette’s approximately a month ago and it was delicious! The service was great, the ambiences was sophisticated and charming and the food authentically European in presentation, taste and quality of ingredients. It was my first time dining at Mogette’s and I had the French onion soup that carried the right balance of cheese... More

In a nutshell: amazing food and service! This place is truly a hidden gem and definitely needs more recognition for what it offers. My boyfriend bought a Groupon for this restaurant and we finally decided to go yesterday. All I have to say is that it was a fantastic experience overall. I was a bit skeptical because there aren't many... More

My family and I recently had a lovely birthday dinner at Mogette. It was our first visit since it changed ownership a year ago. The menu has changed but the quality remains very good. My wife & daughter had salads to start which they both felt were "ordinary". My son had the daily special - mushroom soup - which he... More

I took my cousin to a belated bithday lunch here because it was advertised on Groupon. Not only was the food delicious but the service was very attentive. Great wine selection and very cute decor. Great for a date night or a nice intimate lunch. We had: Mogette bistro signature salad as an appetizer: Very yummy dressing with a lovely... More

We had a delicious dinner, from the warm baguette onwards. Everything was well prepared, the menu was well chosen, the service was impeccable and the host was extremely charming. We would highly recommend the dining experience here. Much cheaper than flying to Paris, but a very warm Gallic evening!

Attentive service. Seafood was fresh and meticulously prepared. Even the bread was good. Intimate ambiance. Efficient kitchen (food didn't take long to come like in most French restaurants). Owner aimed to please each customer. Will go back for sure!

Staying in North End

Neighborhood Profile
North End
The North End is a nucleus of specialty food restaurants and shops, especially around its Mount Pleasant Village area. Frequented by antiquers for its numerous collectable shops, furniture spots, and oddity stores, the North End is a maverick of the quaint and quality. Vintage toy stores, accessory shops, and cinemas welcome perusers to step back in time, while the wide pedestrian squares and the large medical and business community inject it with a dose of modernity. With numerous cafes and Toronto's greatest number of independent booksellers, it isn't uncommon to see folks in this area at their leisure, reading outdoors and in eateries, and taking life a bit more slowly – even if it's only during their lunch break.
