2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014 NEW

As reviewed previously, I have been a frequent diner at Mogette. Last week we returned for dinner and were informed of new ownership. Although the service was polite, it was probably the worst I have encountered in memorable history. Our waiter could not speak or understand English and seemed to have no prior experience of waiting tables at all. I... More

We had read about the onion soup at Mogette and we were not disappointed. We tried 3 different apetizers and 4 different main courses. All were fantastic except one. The wine was excellent. The best part was the desert menu. You must try the flourless cake. It is amazingly delicious.

The service, knowledgeable and attentive, is the most attractive aspect of Mogette. The food is very good but not great. The soup of the day was first-rate, but the cassoulet was a bit disappointing, the duck confit being on the dry side. The dessert, Paris-Brest, was excellent. The wine, a 2011 Grenache, was full and flavourful. The others seemed happy... More

we recently celebrated my wife's birthday with the family including our two grand daughters aged 8 and 6. From start to finish the service was of the highest quality. They looked after the children and ensured that we had everything we needed. The food was superb, the special starter of zucchini tempura with Parma ham was amazing, and the other... More

We have eaten here many times and live within walking distance. A little more expensive than some of the restaurants Along this congenial strip of Mount Pleasant, the restaurant is nonetheless one of my favorites. The service is polite and attentive, the presentation attractive and the flavours to die for. The atmosphere is informal but sophisticated and feels equally comfortable... More

We enjoyed a very nice dinner at this charming French bistro. The decor and ambience is fairly simple, but as one would expect in a good quality neighbourhood restaurant. For our starters we had the Special smoked trout. It was delicious, however the fish had been slightly shredded and mixed with asparagus and other vegetables which although excellent gave the... Given the near perfect reviews we may have had too high expectations. No question the food was very good and we will look to go back, but the memory of dinner did not instill a "craving" (at least for us). Auberge du Pommier instilled a craving for fine French dining ("wow" for food and atmosphere) or Rodney's Oyster bar -... More

A pleasant surprise since I went in. Very attentive service, we were inmediatly sit down and take care of. With an unpretentious wine list we were properly advised on our selection. In any case Mogette allows you to bring your own wine at a cost of $25, which is fine. The onion soup was excellent. My choucrute was very good... More
