Ate here on a Friday night in November 2015 with my wife. Fancy Canadian pub fare. Good charcuterie board. Good burger. My wife's Moroccan braised beef was delicious. Great wine and beer selection (Muskoka Harvest Ale on tap was a treat). Reasonable prices for Toronto. Relaxed atmosphere. I... read more

The BF and I wanted to celebrate our anniversary with some truly amazing food, and The Harbord Room delivered! Initially, we couldn't get a reservation, but were offered spots at the bar upon arrival. However, when we got there, the hostess very graciously found a spot in the patio in the back, but with a 15 min wait. Perfect, since... More

My love affair started 3 years ago after it being listed in Toronto's top 25 burgers. First time was on the patio in the back, so quaint and small. Romantic little hideaway in the middle of the city. The menu was really intriguing but I was there for the burger. A few oysters wouldn't ruin the day however. Cleaned and... More

The burger here is SICK! One of the best burgers I have ever had! The burgers are made fresh to order. Very juicy and full of flavor. The ketchup is homemade and has a nice zesty taste to it. A must try for any burger snob! You will need to make a reservation or come in at 5:00PM when they... More

Four of us had the best time and great food! The staff are awesome and the chef superb. I had a special, the best cod dish I have tasted in ages, cooked to absolute perfection..a lick your plate clean experience (I held back!). Wonderful cocktails, oysters, scallops, octopus salad, calamari (delicate slices) We had a side dish of sprouts, yum!... More

lovely ambiance, service and food in a Toronto neighborhood restaurant. A true find with back garden, knowledgeable food servers and good selection of wines. We enjoyed the cote de boeuf immensely! Very attentive to lactose intolerance and other details of food selection. I should add that the Canadian dollar is currently low vs the USD, so charging on my US... More

I had high expectations of Harbord Room, having heard so many good things about it from friends and family. I went with my husband and our adult daughter. They are both quasi picky eaters so I make point of always checking out the menu ahead of time. When I looked at the menu online I thought there were a few... More

Run don't walk to this small but terrific restaurant. The food is moderately priced but the quality is exceptional. The burgers are to die for but this is light years from a burger place. Scallops, pork, soup, appetizers are all better than they have any right to be. The service is great to boot as is the outdoor patio.

A very warm and friendly Cozy place and has a tables outside in the garden. Service is good and the food is not the regular food you would eat, very good choices and food ideas.

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
