Nice, fresh, healthy

We enjoyed our stay for a late breakfast at around lunchtime so much! Very tasty fresh and interesting especially the vegan platters (I usually love meat). Prices were ok. Nice staff, good atmo. We'll come again!

I went to this restaurant at 10 a.m My table was sticky and in the corner there was a pile of old newspapers. A friendly guy handed me the menu,I choose the tofu mushroom and the mango-orange juice. After 5 minutes he came back to tell me there was no mango and there were no mushrooms Instead I choose the raspberry... Good location, friendly staff, good portions. Not a cheap breakfast - $53 for 4 breakfasts. (and 2 juices, 2 coffees) But you will leave full - toast, eggs, bacon, some fresh fruit garnish, garlic fries (yum!), pancakes (fluffy and with cinnamon - yum again!) A tiny place - seats about 25-30 - luckily we beat the crowd.

The food was lovely I had pancakes from the grille that came with fresh fruit and I also had some delicious hot chocolate along with really fresh squeezed orange juice. My partner had an omelette with toast and fresh fruit it also came with garlic fries. It was an odd combination but he said it was lovely. The service was... More

We were staying at the Comfort Hotel across the road and happened upon Maggies by accident. They had some decent specials for a Sunday morning. Most visitors chose to sit outside on the patio, we sat inside. The pancakes were great, the eggs were great, the fruit was fresh. It wasn't cheap but very satisfying.

I enjoy eating at Maggie's. Though I realize the reviews have been quite negative. I reviewed it in more detail here: http://itannisworld.wordpress.com/2012/05/13/maggies-always-satisfies/

Staying in Downtown

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
